AN BHLIAIN 2021: Bliain Nua faoi mhaise dár bpeileadóirí óga go léir…..May they flourish and prosper. We also wish a Happy New Year to all parents, mentors and fans. Nára fada go mbeidh an vacsaín in aghaidh an víris choróinigh ar fáil go flúirseach agus go mbeirimid beo ar an am seo arís.

CARRAIG an tSEACHTAR LAOCH: Good wishes to our seachtar sárpheileadóirí on the Kerry panel (and extended panel), Armin Heinrich, Joey Nagle, Ben Quilter, Jordan Kissane, Conor Horan, Dean Rusk and Shane Bastible who continue to train diligently with the All-Ireland semi-final in their sights (when virus restrictions ease)! These hard-working footballers, having defeated the boys from the County Clare in the Munster final, eagerly look forward to their next challenge….cluiche leathcheannais na hÉireann! We are The Street of Champions and The Rock of the Seven Heroes!
LIKE TO GET INVOLVED?? The Rock Club is inviting people who might be interested in coaching Gaelic games or who might like to be involved in club activities. Feel free to text or call Éamonn on 0879677034. Areas of involvement: administration, underage football, hurling (we are a hurling and football club), various age groups, male/female, men’s division 5 football, Scór…music, song, dance, sketch, recitation, quiz. PEIL FAOI 14: (i) The Rock U14 boys are out and at it; they’re back training but within COVID rules! They train on Saturdays at 2.30pm (14:30) in Connolly Park. Our good wishes to these brave youngsters and to their braver mentors. Some of these stalwarts may be on the county Under 17 panel in 2/3 years time……cá bhfios? The commitment of these lads in 2020 was superb and they’ll be as enthusiastic in 2021. (ii) The mentors would like to wish all parents, players, fans, followers and fellow club members a very happy and safe year ahead.

PEIL FAOI 16: (i) Ní fada go mbeidh na peileadóirí Faoi 16 i mbun traenála. (ii) The U16 mentors would like to wish a very happy and safe 2021 to everybody involved with this panel.
LE 50 BLIAIN ANUAS: (i) Since 1970 Rock footballers have won a total of 37 All-Ireland medals. Our representatives were: Mikey Sheehy (8), Ger Power (8), John O’Keeffe (5 (+2 in ‘69/’70)), Ger O’Keeffe (4), Kieran ‘Star’ Donaghy (4), William Kirby (2), Daniel Bohan (2), Pa Laide (1), John L.McElligott (1), Shane O’Callaghan (1), Fearghal Mac Conmara (1). Our club has a great football history! (ii) Since 1970 The Rock club has won 7 county championships in football (’73, ’75, 76, ‘79, ’86, ’94, 2014) and we reached 3 hurling finals (’68, ’69, ‘74) but, unfortunately, we were unsuccessful.

CRUINNIÚ CINN BHLIANA: The senior club AGM will take place at 7.30pm on January 13th. It will be held on line via Microsoft Teams. Members who wish to participate must register in advance.
