Austin Stacks CrestFAOI 8/6/10: Lá mór Bhronnadh na mBonn is na dTeastas. Next Sunday (6th) is Presentation Day (medals/certificates) for the Under 6/8/10 boys. Come along to The Rock to view the future heroes of our club! We look forward to a great occasion! Ócáid mhór thábhachtach a bheidh ann!

SCÓR NA nÓG: (i) ‘Well done’ to our boys who took part in the Scór na nÓg quiz sa Scoil Idirmheánach (Carnegie), Cill Orglan, on Saturday last and did the club proud. The successful team, An Spá, will advance (for their 2nd year-in-a-row) to the All-Ireland final. The Rock reps: Ciarán Ó Raghallaigh, Mícheal Ó Lionnáin, Dáithí Mac Muiris, Tomás Mac a’ tSíthigh. The only other team from the Tralee/Naomh Breandán Districts was Na Gaeil. Almost 50 young people took part in the competition. (ii) Senior Scór will get going in early January…for anybody who is 17 years of age or older and is willing to dance, sing, act or play music!

CORN MHIC DHUIBHIR: The McDyer Cup decider went the way of Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí (v Pobalscoil Oileán Ciarraí). Scór: 2-9 le 0-5. Comhghairdeachas le peileadóirí na gaelscoile. Seo iad na Stacaigh ina measc: Ciarán Ó Briain (iománaíocht amháin), Pádraig Ó Luanaigh (ag uimhir 10), Dylan Ó Cathasaigh (uimhir 12), Gearóid Ó Síocháin (uimhir 13), Dara Ó Scannláin (uimhir 15), Donagh Mac Iomhargáin (uimhir17).

CORN DHÚN LÓICH: The Green Under 16½ team was unlucky v An Scoil Idirmheánach, Cill Orglan, in the Dunloe Cup competition final on Friday (27th) last. Scór: 2-9 to 1-8. Rockmen on the panel: Shane Kelliher, Dean O’Connell, Harry O’Callaghan, David Fitzmaurice, David Oba, Cian Holden, David Couchman, Gearóid Fitzgerald, Joseph Looby-Lugandu, Seán Quilter.

CORN UÍ MHUIRÍ: Sympathies to our Mercy Mounthawk and CBS boys who, despite not losing (v Scoil Fachna Naofa, An Sciobairín, and Ardscoil Chluain Meala, respectively), didn’t qualify for the next round of the Corn Uí Mhuirí (Munster senior colleges) competition because of score difference/average. Tralee CBS teams have won Corn Uí Mhuirí (Murray) 15 times, the last victory being in 2007. The Green won four-in-a-row…from 1931 to 1934. For the last four years the cup has gone to Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne. Coláiste Bhréanainn wins total 20!

FAOI 13/14: On Friday week, 11th December, our Under 14s will have their end of year Presentations/Celebration in the clubhouse from 7.30pm to 9pm. ‘Twill certainly be a night of medals…County League Division 2 winners, Central League Division 1 winners, Féile Chiarraí winners, Under 14 Town League winners, Under 13 Town Championship winners. Would that be a dozen baker’s dozens of medals in all? Peileadóirí gan sárú from a Street of Champions!

LAOCHRA BUNSCOILE CHIARRAÍ: The Allianze / Cumann na mBunscoileanna (Division 1) county champions are peileadóirí Ghaelscoil Mhic Easmainn. They defeated Scoil Náisiúnta Ard Fhearta in a game of great skill and of exciting football ag Páirc na Mistéalach, An Cam, with 5 Rock players on board: Heather Nic Conmara, Seán Ó Duagáin, Conchúr Ó Duagáin, Conchúr Ó Ciarba, Cian Ó Duilleáin.
