COLÁISTÍ….ROCK REPS IN COLLEGE GAMES: (i) Best wishes to the Mercy Mounthawk boys who, after a good victory over Coláiste Choilm, Baile an Chollaigh, in the Corn Uí Mhuirí (U19) competition will face Coláiste na Sceilge (‘Sceilg’) ar an 7ú Nollaig (Wednesday), de réir an sceidil. (ii) Good luck to the Tralee CBS boys in their next game in the Munster Colleges Senior Football competition (Faoi 19). They’ve had a good win against a very challenging Pobalscoil Shliabh Luachra (An Ráth Mhór) team. Their next encounter is expected to take place in the next few weeks. (iii) Neidín proved impressive opponents against ár ngaiscígh Dé Luain (14ú) i Lios Treighe. The Gaelcholáiste’s foireann Faoi 16½ were kitted and booted on an agreeably wintry morning and this grit to leave the toasty classrooms for a fresh breezy morning outside was indication of their unquenchable will as they headed into a tough tie. They battled hard as the first score went their way.
While each of the The Rock stars, Messrs Marc agus Rory Ó Loinsigh agus Gavin Ó Cathasaigh, shone brightly and although the teams remained at stalemate at half-time, muintir Neidín outpaced ár laochra Gael fhéin towards the middle of the second half.
