PEIL FAOI 8: (i) Football for our Under 8 boys on Sunday morning, mar is gnách. (ii) The Bracker ‘Regan Cup competition is still in progress on Thursdays. (iii) The Siobhán Cotter Tournament will be held in Churchill on Sunday next, 11th October. We look forward to it…le sceitimíní!

(iv) Among the youngsters who visited us from Éire Óg, Ennis, on Sunday last was Alex Nagle whose great grand uncle had a huge input into the development of our players of yesteryear…footballers such as Johnno and Ger O’Keeffe, Tim Crean, Paudie McCarthy, Timmy Sheehan, John Power.

Many of an older (?) generation will remember Bro. (Tommy) Doohan who was chief organiser of school football and hurling leagues in the Cluain na Lobhar CBS. They might recall teams such as Na Fir Bholg, Na Tuatha Dé Danann, An Chraobh Rua, Na Fianna, Na Gearaltaigh, Éire Óg? (A good way to teach/learn history and language…and sportsmanship!) Bro. Doohan was responsible for The Kerryman write-ups on the competitions under the pseudonym of ‘Green Flag’! He later managed a Limerick City Under 13 hurling team that defeated Cork City on a scoreline of 3-6 to 0-0!

PEIL FAOI 10: (i) The Éire Óg Club, Ennis, came for a challenge on Sunday morning last. We witnessed a great Kerry-Clare clash and mighty football!

(ii) Our internal club cup competitions will continue on Thursday evening….big games to be played! (iii) The Siobhán Cotter Tournament will be held in Churchill on Sunday (11th). This is always a great outing!

PEIL FAOI 11: We’ll make our annual visit to Na Piarsaigh, Cork, in the coming weeks for the Dee O’Leary Tournament.

PEIL FAOI 12: Our season is now nearly completed and to round off the year we are running a club blitz every Sunday. A cup has been put up in memory of the late great Charlie Healy. This cup, Corn Uí hÉilí, will be highly sought after! Beannacht Dé le hanam Charlie.

PEIL FAOI 14: (i) We played Na Gaeil in the Town League last Friday…AdeS: 2-13; Na Gaeil: 1-5. A fine victory, boys! Imríodh an cluiche ar an gCillín. (ii) We played v Churchill at 6.15pm on Wednesday (7th) in Camp/Ballyseedy. (ii) Na Gaeil will be in the final on Sunday 11thOctober. Am, dáta agus páirc imeartha le socrú. Up The Rock!

PEIL FAOI 15: Some of our boys were in action with The Green in the Corn Uí Mhóráin (Under 15 Munster Colleges) competition v Coláiste Bhréanainn on Wednesday (30th). Tralee CBS, having led at half-time by 2 points (1-8 to 1-6), conceded 3-0 (trí pheaca mharfacha!) in the second half (2 penalties). Coláiste Bhréanainn were the stronger finishers. Faraor, níor éirigh le peileadóirí na Faiche! Coláiste Bhréanainn: 4-14; An Fhaiche: 1-10. Thus ended The Green dream! Unlucky Rockites: Jordan Barry, Conor Myers, Luke Chester, David Oba, Eoghan O’Carroll, Seán Quilter, Cian Purcell, Daniel O’Rourke.

PEIL FAOI 16: (i) Our Bs v Mistéalaigh Town League game was played on Monday 28th in Camp/Ballyseedy. Result: Mistéalaigh B: 0-9; Stacaigh B; 0-9. Comhscór! Well done, lads!

(iii) Our Bs were pipped when they played Churchill in Connolly Park on Friday evening last. Having started strongly, they found themselves struggling in the second quarter. Then in the second half, they found an extra gear and mounted a brave challenge but they were behind by a single point at the final whistle, (just like our seniors on Sunday!). Ochón Ó!

(iv) Their final game v Ardfert was played on Monday (5th). Result on web. (iv) Under 16 fixtures are in Juvenile Notes (club web) for Wednesday 26th August.

DUNLOE CUP: Our Dunloe Cup players: James Quigley, Tomás Sheehy, Shane Walsh, Donagh McMahon, Seán Carmody, Michael O’Gara, Oisín Liston (Meánscoil Chnoc an tSeabhaic); Shane Kelliher, Dean O’Connell, Harry O’Callaghan, Cian Holden, Gearóid Fitzgerald, Joseph Looby-Lugandu, Seán Quilter, David Fitzmaurice, David Oba (Meánscoil na Faiche).

OUR SENIORS: So near v Crócaigh Chill Airne and yet so far! Great disappointment for Fearghal and his men! A great-hearted team effort! Táimid bródúil astu! We wish our Blue neighbours (K-O’R) success in Championship! Remember, 2016 is the year to win ‘The Bishop’!
