NOT resting on their laurels after the incredible success of 2014, county and Munster champions, Austin Stacks are making a push to develop the ‘Nuns Field’ in Connolly Park up to a top class standard.
On Friday, January 30, Austin Stacks GAA Club will hold a corporate lunch to raise funds to purchase and start work on the ‘Nuns Field’. It will take place in the Ballygarry House Hotel from 1pm to 4.30pm.

The event was launched on Monday evening in Kirby’s Brogue Inn, with Austin Stacks players, past and present, lending their support along with club officials and sponsors.
It promises to be a day to remember with a wealth of past and present Austin Stacks and Kerry heroes in attendance, as well as the inter-county, provincial and county trophies.
For the lunch, a table for ten will cost €1,000 and there will be lots of freebies for each table including jerseys signed by the Austin Stack senior championship team and the ‘Rockumentary’ DVD of their run to Munster glory.
Transfers to and from Tralee town centre will be provided on the day.

“To get the pitch developed, from a training point of view, will be fantastic,” said Austin Stacks senior team manager, Stephen Stack.
“There’s a huge amount of teams training on the existing pitch, so to have another pitch to work with will be tremendous for the club. From the way things have been going during the last 12 months, the timing to do this is good,” said Stack.
The ‘Nuns Field’ is located adjacent to the main pitch in Connolly Park. The club has been using the pitch for many years, but does not own the site.
