(iii)Everybody in the Club wishes Under 8 star Eoghan Costello, the ‘Messi’ of the juvenile section, a speedy recovery from the hand injury sustained last Sunday. (iv) The Rock had two great games last weekend: (a) against St Finbarr’s of Cork on Saturday and (b) against Churchill on Sunday in Connolly Park.

FAOI 10: (i) Thursday football for our Under 10s as usual this week. (ii) Our Under 10s played v Club Naomh Fionnbarra (Cork) on Saturday and they challenged Glanmire on Sunday. Our boys had two great outings which were enjoyed by all. Thanks to mentors/parents who traveled.

FAOI 11: Our Under 11s gave a superb performance v Rathmore at Connolly Park on Wednesday 5th. Having already had two nail-biting victories, v Legion and Laune Rangers, our lads were determined to start strongly. And so they did! With our hard working defenders on red alert and with our midfielders covering acres of ground, the forwards gained a lot of possession which they used wisely and we led at half-time…4-9 to 1-2. And, with a strong panel of players and very supportive parents, there was no let up in the second half!

The Rock boys were comfortable victors on a final score of 5-13 to 3-6. That’s 3-in-a-row for the Under 11s and this team is hungry for more of the same…much wants more…agus bailíonn brobh beart! Roll on the 15th June and our next encounter…a much anticipated clash with our Cillín neighbours, Na Gaeil. Ambaiste ach…táimid ag tnúth go mór leis an gcluiche!

FAOI 12: (i) Our Under 12s gave a fantastic performance against Rathmore on Wednesday 5th in Connolly Park. There was little to choose between 2 evenly matched teams. Half time score: 4-3 to 2-9. Both teams continued in a similar mode in the second period with a high level of skill on display. An Ráth Mhór finished slightly stronger and won by 3 points. Our lads can hold their heads high as they have been very competitive in all of their recent matches.

Scorers: Cian Purcell (2-6), Owen Healy (1-2), Greg Scanlon (1-0), Owen Higgins (1-0), James Fernane (0-2), Luke Chester (0-1), Conor Horan (0-1), Armin Heinrich (0-1). (ii) Training continues on Monday and on Wednesday…6pm to 7.30pm. See you all then, boys!

FAOI 14: (i) Our pre-Féile training is going well…expect text re dates/times. We are really looking forward to Féile Náisiúnta Pheil na nÓg in Bearna na Gaillimhe on 27th, 28th and 29th June. It’s great to see Leon Sholamba back in action again and gracing the Connolly Park pitch…he re-emerged last Saturday…gortú coise a bhí air!

Reminder: on this Friday night our Family-friendly Table Quiz will take place in the clubhouse. All welcome, Beidh an-chraic ann! All players who are travelling to Bearna (The Gap) are earnestly encouraged to support this fun event by providing a team of four.

Costas: €10 an duine. Please help to make this a great family night out and a big success…all proceeds go to our Féile fund-raising efforts. See you all there! (iii) Thanks to all who ‘sold lines’ in support of the club’s Peil na nÓg trip to Galway/Mayo….ní neart go cur le chéile. (iv) North Kerry Development Squad training will commence soon and some players will be invited to attend.

FAOI 15: Good luck to our lads in their preparations for the Under 15 Supertouch Blitz. We hope that they’ll perform as well next weekend. Go n-éirí go geal libh an chéad lá eile, a leaideanna!

FAOI 16: We look forward to resuming our activities after the exams. Best wishes to all examination students…tá sibh nach mór ag ceann scríbe agus, le cúnamh Dé, beidh toradh maith ar bhur saothar!

SUCCESS FOR GAELSCOIL HURLERS: Comhghairdeachas le iománaithe óga Ghaelscoil Mhic Easmainn, Maitiú de Búrca, Seán Ó Murchú agus Tomás Ó hAiniféin, who were 2nd in the Cumann na mBunscoileanna HURLING skills’ competition last week. That result puts them among the best in Kerry!
