PEIL FAOI 6: Under 6 football training will take place as usual on Sunday morning next, September 20th, in CAHERSLEE, at the usual time of 11.15am (to 12.15pm). Looking forward to seeing all our young ‘greats’!
PEIL FAOI 8: (i) On this Thursday evening (September 17th) the John Galvin/Bracker Regan Cup games (Babhta a 2) continue in Connolly Park at 5.45pm. Wonderful games have been played so far and this week’s games should be equally exciting. These matches are showing what great players we have in our club….only the best of football material in our boys! Tá na buachaillí faoi 8 mbliana d’aois ar fheabhas! (ii) On Sunday last (13th) i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile our youngsters took on the might of Killarney’s Legion and fabulous football was played by outstanding Rock stars! (iii) Next Sunday morning, ag 11am i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile, our men will get stuck into Tralee’s Na Gaeil and that should be an exciting encounter. Wayne’s future warriors! Na Stacaigh go deo!

Round 2 takes place in Connolly Park at 5.45pm on Thursday (September 17th). These matches are bringing out the best in our boys! Top-class football is being played by our buachaillí faoi 10 mbliana d’aois! (ii) On Sunday last (13th) i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile they challenged Killarney’s Legion and brilliant football was played by our outstanding future stars! (iii) Next Sunday morning, ag 11am i bPáirc Uí Chonghaile, our men will get stuck into buachaillí an Chillín, Na Gaeil, and that should be an exciting encounter. Na Stacaigh Abú!
PEIL FAOI 12: Connolly Park was the place to be on Sunday evening last as our three U12 teams were in LEE STRAND County League action. All our matches were played at home together for the first time all year. (i) In the Division 2A game, Listowel Emmets provided the opposition for our Team 1 and what a gripping encounter the two sides served up! Listowel played with the aid of a strong breeze sa chéad leath but that didn’t deter the Rockies who played some of their best football of the year to match the Fealesiders all the way to the halftime whistle. With our midfield duo of Aodhán Horgan and Alex Tuohy in the ascendancy, our forward line of Jake Carmody, Rory Lynch, Jack Shanahan, Max Grzybowski and Jack Diggins were kept in constant supply and took their scores well to ensure a 4-9 to 4-4 lead at the final water break. It was a case of all-hands-on-deck in a frenetic final quarter as a good Listowel team threw the kitchen sink and all cooking appliances at their disposal in a valiant attempt to close the deficit. However, the Black‘n’Amber defence of Seanie Clifford (goalkeeper), Rían Walsh, Eoghan Murphy, Jay Sweeney and Gabriel Nosidlak stood firm and saw the Rock through to a great victory on a scoreline of 4-12 to 5-7. Well done, boys! Tharr barr! Outstanding! The Team 1 boys have now concluded their county league campaign but their season is far from over and we should have news of further fixtures in the coming days.
(ii) In the ‘B’ game, our young ‘Amber’ team enjoyed a handsome win over Listowel with our very best performance of the season. This fast-improving side play great traditional Rockie football and they never let up in a fine 5-19 to 4-2 win. Well done, all….players, mentors parents! A great result! Scór iontach agus toradh iontach! The Team Amber boy’s county league games have now concluded but their season is far from over and we should have news of further fixtures in the coming days.
(iii) In the ‘B’ division encounter, Team Black faced local rivals Na Gaeil in a bid to maintain our unbeatenrun in the county league. Confidence and skill levels run high throughout this group and they delivered another five-star (and goal!) performance to win by 5-16 to 2-8. Alex Dafoor (cúl báire) was his ultra-reliable self in making a number of crucial saves and was well protected by Brian Kavanagh and by Jayden Moriarty, both of whom gave master classes in distribution out from the defence. Dean Courtney and Jamie Casey were outstanding in the halfback line and worked well with captain Darragh Lyons and Denis Brassil to give The Rock the edge in the middle third. Our attacking force of Tadhg Falvey and Barry Laide in the half forward line and inside trio of Kyle Yoxhall, Oran O’Donoghue and Ewan Canty were all on song and took some great scores to lead Team Amber to a fully deserved victory. Team Black have to play one final round of the county league….away to Legion next Sunday (details to be confirmed).
PEIL FAOI 14: (i) Our U14A team played away v Churchill. Good football was played by our boys and everybody enjoyed the outing. Well done, lads! (ii) The U14B boys played their hearts out in this week’s game but were unlucky against a much stronger Abhainn a’ Scáil/Lios Póil A combination in the LEE STRAND Under 14 County Football League (Phase 2). It has to be noted that these boys are the only club B team playing above Division 7. They deserve great credit for their great effort. Tough games like these will strengthen our lads. PEIL FAOI 16: (i) Our lads played well, gave a good account of themselves and showed great fighting spirit i bPáirc na mBan Rialta v Fossa. Maith sibh, a leaideanna! (ii) On Monday last (14th September) they played at home v Na Crócaigh. Our boys gave of their best, gave a good account of themselves, played ‘quality’ football and showed great fighting spirit. Well done, boys!
(ii) Rules: full rules and full pitch as per the current GAA Official Guide AND the ‘advance mark’, the ‘defensive mark’ and the ‘sin bin’ rules will apply.
(iii) Under 16 training times: (a) Mondays from 6pm to 7.30pm; (b) Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm; (c) Fridays from 6pm to 7.30pm.

COVID 19: The COVID advisory committee of the GAA has issued updated guidance to all clubs in relation to attendance at underage games. This advice is based on the updated guidelines issued by Sport Ireland on behalf of Rialtas na hÉireann. Please note that (i) only one designated individual per child/family/group of children should attend a training session or a game, (ii) the GAA health questionnaire MUST be completed by parents/guardians before attendance at a game/session, (iii) the overall number of attenders/players should be kept to a minimum and should be in keeping with the space available at the venue/facility, (iv) parents of Under 18 players are NOT permitted to be in attendance at adult games in which their son is participating but provision can be made to allow an adult to be in close proximity (eg, in car park, etc) in case medical or other emergency needs require their presence. (v) A parent/guardian attending an underage game in these circumstances shall not be subject to vetting.
