Austin StacksPEIL FAOI 6: See you all again next Sunday, boys! What a joy to see these future stars among the 100+ young Rock footballers playing good quality caid on Sunday morning! Is fearr An Charraig….an club is fearr gan dabht!

FAOI 8: The finals of the Kevin Barry and Bracker ‘Regan Cups were played on Thursday of last week…and what excitement! Kieran Donaghy kindly took time out from training on the main pitch with the senior team to present Corn de Barra to Seán Heaslip, captain of the ‘Black’n’Ambers’. They defeated ‘The Stacks’ in the final of a fantastic Under 8 league. ‘Star’ then presented Pádraig O’Halloran, captain of ‘The Rock’ with the Bracker ‘Regan Cup. In the final they defeated another talented team, ‘Super Rockies’. See www.austinstacks.ie for Adrienne’s photos.

FAOI 10: The Under 10 Boys were in action in Caherslee on Sunday last when the John Galvin Cup and the Paddy Drummond Cup league finals were eagerly contested. The action commenced with great enthusiasm after the playing of ‘Amhrán na bhFiann’. Both finals were very closely contested and the Paddy Drummond Cup was won by one single point. The John Galvin Cup game ended in a heart-throbbing draw and such was the intensity of that final that it was decided to present the cup to both captains to share for the year. Both finals were well supported….siblings, mothers, fathers, cousins, neighbours…lá dár saol gan aon agó!

Juvenile Chairman, Tim McMahon, and Aileen Galvin (sister of the late John) presented the John Galvin Cup to both captains. (John Galvin was a talented and dedicated player on the successful Rock senior team of 1986. He sadly passed away at a young age).

Tim McMahon presented Cian Dillane with the Paddy Drummond Cup. (Paddy Drummond, Tim’s grand-uncle, hailed from Urban Terrace, Rock Street). Téigh go www.austinstacks.ie le haghaidh grianghrafanna deasa Adrienne or see photos below.

The Under 10 football continues in Caherslee next Sunday morning with the usual training schedule and a visit from Laune Rangers. The Under 10 Garry Fernane Cup competition will be played shortly.

CAID FAOI 13/14: Division 3 semi-final: Our B boys were unlucky v Ballymac in Connolly Park on Thursday of last week.

FAOI 16: (i) Our A boys’ (round 2) game v Ardfert….we were given a ‘walk-over’! (ii) Round 4: AdeS A v Na Gaeil on Monday last. (iii) Round 5: Churchill v AdeS A on Monday 6th October @ 6pm. (iv)

HQ: Maybe it’s time to see and hear more of the Artane Boys Band on the big day in Croker and less of the over-loud deafening music that doesn’t allow for conversation among fans!

GOOD LUCK: Bet wishes to our seniors v Ciarraí Thiar on Sunday in Staid a’ Ghearaltaigh. ‘Stephen’s Stacks’ Abú!
