AUSTIN STACKS corner-forward, David Mannix, will miss this Sunday Garvey’s Super Valu Senior Football County Championship match against Dr Crokes.
Story continued below…
Mannix has been the club side’s main marksman in the forward line in 2015 and was in a rich vein of form for the Rockies earlier in the year when they triumphed over Crokes in the County League Final.
The side will also be without corner-back, Ronan Shanahan, who is on the comeback from cruciate ligament injury he sustained a few months ago.
There is good news however for the Rock, with players who left for America at the start of summer all returning to the fold. Darragh O’Brien, Wayne Guthrie, Greg Horan and Conor Jordan are expected to be available and ready for action.
The match, which is without doubt the tie of the round 3 of the championship, is the second in a double header at Fitzgerald Stadium on Sunday with a throw-in time of 3:30pm.
Last week, Dr Crokes lost the Club Championship final against Dingle. The two sides have met once already this year with the Rock victorious after extra-time in the County League Final of 2014.
