EVERY cloud has a silver lining and this is certainly true in the case of the Aqua Dome.

The current July weather, which has been mostly cloudy, has resulted in an increase in 2,848 visitors to the Aqua Dome compared with the same time in July last year.

This increase in visitor numbers has been warmly welcomed and coincides with reports of record tourism numbers across Ireland for first six months of 2015.

This has been a year of landmarks for Ireland’s most loved waterpark. Back in February the Aquadome welcomed its 4,000,000th customer and in May celebrated 21 years in business.

It has also been a pretty good last seven days for the Aqua Dome. Last Friday it was announced that it came 27th in a list of Fáilte Ireland’s ‘Top Fee Charging Visitor Attractions in Ireland for 2014’.

Earlier in the week, the Aqua Dome was delighted to receive the Travellers Choice Awards, one of the highest honours given out by Trip Advisor, the world’s largest travel site.

126,323 people visited the Aqua Dome in 2014 and hopes are high that it will remain in Failte Ireland’s top ranking positions for this year.

“We are thrilled to be listed in the top 25 Water Parks in Europe by Travellers Choice Awards on Trip Advisor,” said Manager of the Aquadome, Mags O’Sullivan.

“Traveller’s Choice Awards are based on traveller reviews and opinions in categories including hotels, destinations, restaurants and attractions in a variety of categories and geographies,” she said.

This year has also seen a substantial increase in repeat family visits to the Aqua Dome and this is due to the popular demand of the greatly reduced two-visit family ticket, weekly family ticket and monthly family ticket.

These family tickets offer great value for money with unlimited time and unlimited fun and are a big hit with families.

The ‘Pay As You Go’ Memberships have also seen a big increase in sales especially with families travelling from Cork, Limerick and Clare as once the nominal membership fee has been paid, adults pay only €5 and juniors pay €4.

So Ireland’s leading watermark is going from strength to strength and long may it last!
