FOR the last decade, Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa has hosted an annual Easter egg hunt to raise funds for both local and Irish charities, but, in light of the current restrictions the event was unable to go ahead this year.

As a result of this, the team decided to think outside the box and take a new approach towards their fundraising.

As Ballygarry House are moving towards a more environmentally friendly future they wanted the theme of their fundraising campaign, Ballygarry for Barnardos, to reflect this.

The Ballygarry team are completing daily clean-ups of their surrounding areas within their 5km from now until Easter Sunday.

As the team live in various parts of the county, their clean-ups will be in a diverse range of locations, from beaches, to town parks, local parishes, and more.

At the end of the campaign they will host a private tree planting ceremony to mark what has been a very challenging year. The idea is that as a team they will ‘grow’ with the tree and grow from the events and challenges we have all faced in the last 12 months.

In the last decade Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa has raised a significant amount of money for charity through their Easter fundraising, which is why this year more than ever they felt it was important to show support to charities like Barnardos and do their bit to help out.

All of the proceeds will go to Barnardos which is an Irish Children’s Charity who carry out a vast range of services to support children and their families when they need it most.

They are taking donations for Barnardos on their GoFundMe Page and would appreciate any support you can give them, no matter how small. You can find the link to their GoFundMe here https://gofund.me/340ea237
