Ballyheigue Community Alert Formed To Highlight Anti-Social Behaviour

A GROUP has been formed in Ballyheigue to give voice to people’s concerns regarding anti-social behaviour.

‘Ballyheigue Community Alert’ was created following a number of incidents including a fire on ‘Dolly’s Green’ on Friday night.

The community group has a WhatsApp group that enables the sharing of information that is then relayed to An Garda Síochána.

A public meeting will be held at Ballyheigue Community Centre tonight (Tuesday) at 7.30pm. This will enable caravan park owners, business people and members of the public to express their views.

An Garda Síochána have also been invited. Local man Risteárd Ó Fuaráin said that since the formation of the group, there has been an improvement in matters and ‘Ballyheigue Community Alert’ hopes that this can be built upon to ensure that both locals and visitors can enjoy a peaceful summer.
