Grainne is the manager of the local Centra in Ballyheighue where she has worked for the last 15 years. Her bosses, Brendan and Margaret Moriarty are like a second family to her.

Grainne has been going out with Sean, a farmer, for the past two years.

The youngest of eight children, she has three sisters and four brothers. Her siblings, who range from 44 to 29, all live around the locality. She has 15 nieces and nephews.

In her spare time Grainne enjoys walking. She also plays as a corner forward for the ladies football club Causeway. This year Causeway won the North Kerry Championship.

Grainne was drying her hair in another room when her name was called out on Winning Streak last weekend. Her mother, father and brother David were watching the show. The house was full of people within ten minutes of Grainne’s name being called out.

Grainne said she would love to buy a new kitchen for her parents with her winnings.

Grainne’s siblings Amanda, Siobhan and Maurice were in the audience, as well as her nephews, Jack and Nathan and her nieces, Katie Ellen (who is Grainne’s godchild), Lila Grace, and Laura.
