COISTE NA NOG

FAOI 16: Ballymac 3-18 Austin Stacks 1-08

Our U16’s got their Coiste Trá Lí campaign off to a great start last Monday week when they took on Austin Stacks at home. We played John Mitchels away last Monday night and report will be in next weeks notes.

FAOI 14: Ballymac 6 – 13 Kerins O Rahillys 3- 08

After our disappointment in 1st round match v Stacks, Ballymac returned to winning ways with a determined and spirited performance to over come Rahillys. It was Rahillys who got off to a perfect start scoring 1 01 inside the opening 3 mins, with Ballymac making a few early positional switches we began to start winning clean possession and getting decent ball into our full forward line, with the three Daire’s [Keane, Chawke & Broderick] dominating their men.

This resulted in Daire Keane hitting 1 04 within 15 minutes to put Ballymac ahead, further points from Josh O Keeffe, Darragh Broderick, Cillian Gallagher and 2 more from Daire Keane put Ballymac in firm control at the short whistle leading 1 10 to Rahillys 1 03. With an almost a full complement of players available on the night Ballymac did what they struggled to do most of the year and starting the second half in whirlwind fashion hitting 5 early goals to put the game out of reach for Rahillys. The goals coming from Josh O Keeffe [3], James Mc Donnell [1] and Daire Keane[1].

This gave Ballymac a chance to empty the bench and reposition some players which allowed Rahillys some chances and they finished the rest of the half strongest scoring 2 05 with Ballymac adding 3 points to leave the final score Ballymac 6 13 Rahillys 3 08. Ballymac would like to wish a speedy recovery to Rahillys midfielder Ben Foley who suffered severe concussion and ended up having to leave the field by Ambulance which is a sight no sports person likes to see. Hopefully Ben will be back on the playing field very soon.
