Round 10 of The County league

Ballymac V Brosna

Result

Ballymac 0-24

Brosna 1-11

Ballymac travelled to Brosna in Round 10 of the County League on Saturday 12/08 with the hope of promotion their team to Division two next season, from the off Ballymac showed true spirit and determination and with excellent team work they achieved their goal.

Brosna put the first point on the board within the first minute and continued to punish Ballymac with an outstanding goal leaving the visitors trail behind early in the game but Genie Griffen and Aiden Breen responded by scoring 2 points to close the gap , it was 18 minutes before the teams levelled on the score board and throughout the first half it was point for point going into half time with a score of 1-05 to Brosna and 0-07 to Ballymac.

In the second half Ballymac came out with a new found strength and immediately dominated the  game from the start with Paudi McCarthy  scoring two outstanding points within a minute of each other and Vinnie Horan following suit adding another point to secure Ballymacs lead, Luke Sweeney came from the midfield and with great skill to put two more successive points on the board,

There was no stopping Vinne Horan in the closing 15 minutes of the game as he battled through the Brosna side by scoring 3 more points without response . With Genie Griffen and Paudi McCarthy adding more scores to the Ballymac side in the closing stages of the game there was no doubt Ballymac were bringing home the promotion, leaving the home side trail 10 points behind at the final whistle.

Congratulations to the Team and Management on this outstanding performance and we look forward the League Final against Na Gaeil in the coming weeks.

Ballymac Minors

BALLYMAC 1—14 CASTLEISLAND DESMONDS 1—12

Our first game in the Central League was away to Desmonds on Monday 7th July. The home side were probably the better team in the first half with Ballymac getting better as the game went on and kept their opponents scoreless for the final 15 minutes.

Dara Reagan got our first point with Eoin O Malley driving forward and pointing shortly afterwards.

Desmonds replied with 3 points while a fine effort by Liam O Malley came off the crossbar.D Reagan goaled after good work by Barry Lyons and Liam o Malley, and ML Hoare added a point. Our opponents got 2 more points and Liam o Malley pointed for us.Desmonds again pointed and a misplaced pass allowed them in for a goal.

Liam and Barry helped D Reagan get 2 more points and the home side got three more points to lead at half time 1-9 to 1-6 Unfortunately Keelan Brosnan picked up an injury at the start of the second half and was unable to continue.Desmonds pointed early on and ML Hoare got 2 points for us.

Our opponents got two more points but these were their final scores. ML Hoare again pointed followed by 2 Dara Keane points.Barry and Josh o Keeffe were fouled in succession with ML Hoare converting the frees to put us a point ahead.Minutes later Barry (who was full of running throughout) was put through by Josh for our final point.

Cathal Dunne worked tirelessly all evening with Dylan Dunne Moriarty also impressing.Best wishes to Keelan Brosnan who picked up an ankle injury in the course of the game.We are at home to Mitchels in this competition next Monday evening 14th .
