BALLYMAC 2-11 JOHN MITCHELS 3-9

We played Mitchels at home in our second Central league game last Wednesday evening. After getting off to a good start we were 3 points ahead as time ran out, but a late Mitchels surge just caught us.

A dissallowed Ballymac goal was the subject of some debate afterwards. Josh o Keeffe pointed straight from the off and minutes later Dara Reagan drove through for a goal.He then added a point and Tadhg Brick went upfield also pointing.Mitchels then got on the scoreboard with their first three points.

Again T Brick drove forward passed to James Carmody who goaled from close range. The visitors also goaled and James Carmody put David Rodgers through for a point.Mitchels got the final point of the half to leave the score 2-4 to 1-4 in our favour at the break.Once more Josh pointed straight from the throw in but Mitchels responded with 1-1 inside a few minutes.

J Carmody put ML Hoare through for a point , the same player pointed two frees after Barry and Josh were fouled. In between Mitchels also pointed. D Reagan and ML Hoare kicked two frees and our opponents also getting two points.

ML Hoare kicked our final point but a goal and a point from Mitchels was enough to see them victorius. Eddie Rodgers and Eoin o Malley brought off fine blocks in the course of the game while Liam o Brien was also in fine form.

The 2017 Rose Cup

The Rose Cup team.

Our u 13 s participated in the Rose cup in Ballyrickard on saturday last. Teams in our group were Ardfert Listowel Emmets & moyvane. Against Ardfert in our first game , we started slowly and were 3 pts Down at half time.

We improved greatly in second half but were a little unlucky to loose by a point at the final whistle. We easily overcame Listowel emmets in our second game , and in a Ding Dong battle against moyvane in the third game we overcame the north kerry boys by 3 points.

We played against  kerins o Rahillys in the shield semi final but the strand road boys got the better of us in a great game of football. Thanks to all players for a great effort , coaches & parents for all their support on the Day. Congrats to Ardfert & kerins o Rahillys for winning Cup & Shield.

Fr Pats farewell will take place on Thursday August 24th in the hall in Ballydwyer commencing with Mass at 7.30pm followed by tea/coffee refreshments. All welcome. Musicians, singers, storytellers, dancers etc are most welcome to participate that night.
