Ballymac Strictly Love Dancing 2018

Its our favourite time of year again in Ballymac when our talented and hardworking dancers take to the floor and dance their hearts out for the chance to be crowned winners in the 2018 Strictly Come Dancing.

The dancers rehearsals are well underway and this year promises to be even more entertaining.

This ever successful event will take place on Feb 3rd in The Ballygarry Hotel and tickets will be available very soon.

Make sure to get your tickets early and don’t miss a chance to be part of this spectacular event in Ballymac

Tickets will be on sale on Monday the 8th of January at Horans Fruit and Veg at the Horan Centre, The Halfway Bar in Ballymac, O’Riardas Bar and from the Ballygarry Hotel.

Congratulations Mike Sweeney on your retirement

On Thursday December 21st O Brennan NS hosted a Retirement Service to honour outgoing Principal Mike Sweeney.

Fr Pat Crean returned to the parish to celebrate Mass during which a Cermony of Light,a Reflection and Prayers of the Faithful were performed by members of Staff,Board of Management,Parents Council and pupils past and present.The School Choir under the

guidance Ms Andrea Brosnan greatly added to the occasion.

After the Mass presentations were made to Mike by the  Board of Management,Parents Council and his Family to recognise the 36 years he dedicated to the education of children in the O Brennan catchment area.

Speeches were made by Chairperson of the Board of Management Teresa Lonergan and former teaching colleague Kathleen Griffin which outlined the great work Mike has undertaken for the betterment of O Brennan.The final speech was made by the man of the moment in which he thanked everyone who helped him in his time in the School.He expressed his gratitute to his wife Sheila and Family who had been a great support to him throughout the years.

The evening finished with some light refreshments.

Great credit is due to all who organised the event which was a fitting tribute to Master Sweeney.Ni bheidh a leitheidi aris.

Sympathy

John Paul Murphy father of Annettee Murphy Scanlon (Ballydwyer)  has passed away.

We extend our sympathies to Annette and her husband John and children Ella., Maggie, Sinead ,and Diarmuid who play football and are involved in Scór in our Club.

Happy New Year from Ballymac GAA

Ballymac Gaa would like to wish all our players and supporters a very Happy New year. Thank you all for your support in 2017. We hope to see you all again in the new season in what promises to be a very exciting season.
