All the Club wish Oonagh and James health and happiness in their future together.

DER FLYNN RIP
There was great sadness when news reached the Parish of the death of Der Flynn. A native of Kielduff Der played with Ballymac for many years and also served as Club Chairman and was a former trustee of our Club grounds. Upon moving to Castleisland Ballymacs loss became Cordals gain as he served as Chairman of the Cordal Club for many years. He also gave great service to St. Kierans where once again he took up the Chairmans role. All at Ballymac GAA club extends their deepest sympathy to the Flynn and Leen families on their great loss.

MEMBERSHIP
Please note all 2014 membership (adult & juvenile) expires at the end of March and it is vitally important that all players are registered to ensure they have insurance cover. Registration continues next Sunday morning at the club.

FAOI 16
BALLYMAC 1—18 JOHN MITCHELS 1—6
We played John Mitchels in Ballyseedy on a bitterly cold Sunday morning. After a well-attended and energetic training session last Tuesday we were hoping for a good performance. Ml Hoare pointed for us after 5 minutes the first of his four points from play. Mitchel’s replied with a point before points from D Reagan (2) J McDonnell, ML Hoare, and L. O’Malley stretched our lead. Mitchels again pointed and we replied with 6 points in 6 minutes from ML Hoare and D Reagan (0-2) each, Keelan and Eoin O’Malley. Just before half time Eoin O’Malley interrupted a Mitchel’s attack before passing to his brother Liam who in turn passed to James McDonnell who found the net ….a well worked and well taken goal. Half time score Ballymac 1-12 Mitchels 0-3

With the wind picking up in Mitchels favour the second half was going to be more difficult. D Reagan pointed from a free before Mitchels got 1-1; their best period of the game. Two points from Keelan and one each from D. Reagan and Liam extended our lead. Mitchels got two late points while Dara Chawke got our final score. Liam O’Malley covered a lot of ground, Josh and Keelan were on top at midfield while our new defenders Chris Lowe and Brian Lonergan also impressed. We are due to play Desmonds next Monday the 23rd of March which is our first game in the central region competition.
Congratulations to panel member Daire Keane who won his all Ireland semi-final in handball last Sunday.

Our U10 boys are settling in nicely and William O Donoghue, Alex Riordan, Ben Sharpe, Jamie Lynch,, Micheal Culloty and Micheal Savage showing great improvement. Our U6’s continue their training in the Green Gym on Saturday morning at 10.00am while all the rest of the Academy training continue on Sunday mornings at 11.00am.

FAOI 12 CAILINI
The under 12 girls travelled to Ballybunion on Sunday morning to take on a combination of Beale/Ballyduff and came out on top by 2 points to keep their unbeaten run in the North Kerry League going. This was by far the toughest game so far, but the girls dug deep in the second half to take the 2 points. It was a great team performance with all six backs playing well in the first half against the wind. With Emily O Donoghue driving them on from midfield ending the half with 1-1 to her name ably assisted by Grainne Galvin we ended the half 2-2 to 2-1 a point ahead the other 1-1 coming from Kate O Connor. The first 15 minutes of the second half saw the locals put us under alot of pressure but the girls weathered the storm and with four points from the boot of Emily from play and frees and one from a free from Alyssa Leen saw us finish ahead by two at the final whistle.

TEAM;Laura O Shea,Sophie O Donoghue,Roisin Long(c),Ellie Linehan,Laura Dunne,Sinead McKeown,Cathy Palmer,Emily O Donoghue,Grainne Galvin,Kate O Connor,Yvonne Hurley,Ciara Palmer,Emer Curran,Aoife Galvin,Emma Leen. Subs used;Holly Geary,Aylssa Leen,Millie Dunne,Bridget Sheehan,Aideen Lynch.

A speedy recovery to Cora Savage who injured her knee playing with O Brennan recently.

The under 12 girls played their second game in Div 2 of the North Kerry League against neighbours Castleisland Desmond’s on Monday the 9th of March in Ballymac and ran out comfortable winners on a score line of 5-7 to 2-1. Missing a number of senior girls on the panel the younger panel members acquitted themselves excellently. Led by Sinead McKeown in defence we gave the visitors very little opportunities in the first half.Emily O Donoghue at midfield was providing plenty possession for the forwards with Emer Curran ending the half with 2-1 to her name along with 2 points From Aoife Galvin and one from Emily.Desmonds responded strongly at the start of the second half with 2 goals, but our girls dug deep and took control of the game with a goal each from Emer and Aoife and a point from Emma Leen to finish the scoring. Along with the girls mentioned above, others to play well were Sophie O Donoghue and Laura Dunne in defence and Kate O Connor and Ciara Palmer in the forwards.
