Coiste Na N’Og

Ballymac U8 Boys had another good turn out this Sunday and all are enjoying learning their skills and playing matches.  We will be taking part in the Go Games for Castleisland District in Desmonds GAA pitch this Thursday the 10th of May @ 7pm .

U12

Team 2 played Tarbert on Sunday evening in Ballymac. On a fantastic evening for football we came up against a Tarbert team with a 100% record. We matched them for most of the game but in the end we came out the wrong end losing by 4-9 to 3-6.

Congratulations to Tarbert on winning Division 8. Our lads will benefit from challenging games like this and will benefit in Phase 2 of the county league. Good things ahead for this bunch of lads. We have one game remaining to play against Cromane.

Team 1 and team 3 played Austin Stacks in Ballymac Tuesday evening. Two good team performances with team 1, who were neck and neck with Austin Stacks for most of the game losing 1-10 to 3-11. Team 2 won their match against Stacks by the solitary goal in what was a humdinger of a match that in reality neither team deserved to lose. The luck on the night was with Ballymac with us winning by 2-6 to 0-9

Team 1 and team 3 play Rathmore in Ballymac this Tuesday at 7pm and Laune Rangers away next Sunday at 6pm.

U14 A Boys

Our U14 s Travelled to Kerins o Rahilly s to play the locals in Round 4 of the county League . Our boys began in style and were 2 01 to 0 01 ahead after 10 minutes, our two goals coming from Niall Collins. We continued to Dominate the game in the first half but only lead by 2 points at the interval.

At the start of the second half , Kerins o Rahilly s scored 3 goals to go 7 points clear & now the game seemed like slipping away from us . However when Luke O Connell went to full foward & Andy Rogers to centre back , we began to play with more fluency.

Two goals from Luke had us level with 5 minutes remaining, and in a epic final Five minutes , Kerins o Rahilly’s out scored us by 1 01 to 0 02 to win by 2 points . Players to impress were mark O Connor Niall Collins Maurice O Connell Luke O Connell mossie Brennan & Donal Daly .

We Travel to kenmare next Wednesday night & a win will guarantee us a semi final spot . Thanks to all parents for their support on the night and well done to all players for a great comeback in the second half .

U14B Boys

Our U14Bs were away to Milltown/Castlemaine last Wednesday. On the night Ballymac played some lovely passing football to win the game on a scoreline of 3-7 to 2-1

We play our last game of the group stages against Kerins O Rahillies B at home this Wednesday night at 7pm

Donal Walsh Memorial Tournament

Our U14 Boys team were honoured to be invited to the first ever running of Donal Walsh Memorial tournament held in Kerins O Rahillies last Saturday. Despite a difficult first game against Austin Stacks the lads progressed out of the group stages defeating John Mitchels and losing to St.Pats Blennerville.

This set up a shield semi final against Castlegregory. The match itself was nip and tuck with the bravery of our goalie on the day Sam Mansfield being the difference in the end. This saw us progress to the shield final and a rematch against St. Pats. The final this time around was a one sided affair with massive displays from our four U12 players Tom Long, Shane Gilroy, William O Donoghue and Cathal White.

There were also fine displays from James Kenny, Luke McCaffery and Gary Lynch around the middle of the pitch. Our forward play was crisp with Padraig Heffernan, Sean Rice, Tommy Palmer and Niall Collins keeping their finest football for the final. The shield was accepted by Captain Kieran Slattery. Thanks to Kerins O Rahillies for the invite and to the Walsh family for their warm welcome. The tournament was very well run.

THERE WILL BE NO ACADEMY NEXT SUNDAY MAY 13th on account of the Kingdom County Fair.

Ballymac Ladies

Ballymac Senior Ladies.

CLOUNMACON V BALLYMAC

This was very much our first match of the year due to adverse weather and unplayable pitches , our ladies tried as hard as you can,but couldn`t  matched a very strong Clounmacon side who demonstrated the skills in a very much one -sided match. We couldn`t fault our ladies for their effort and for most it was their first time playing together and certainly learnt a lot from this loss.

We in the ladies club sincerely like to thank Clounmacon for their hospitiality and post match refreshments a most welcomed sight from the cold wet evening.

TEAM: Robyn white,naomi o sullivan,niamh rahilly,meave o sullivan,leah o neill,una kerins,millie luck,claire kenny,ellie mcelligott,eve creedon,veronica heaslip,aine rice, rachael godley , grainne kerins , emma sweeney . Subs: Veronica o donnell , sineadmangan.

BALLYMAC V CROMANE

This game was certainly a game of 2 halves in which Cromane came at
us very strongly , racing into a 2-05 lead after 15mins and to be fair
our girls tried but couldn`t stem the Cromane tide with them forcing
errors from our ladies and non stop pressure resulting in a half time
score 3-10 to no score , however with a few tactical changes and team
talk the Ballymac ladies came out with more belief and started putting
scores on the board which caught Cromane off guard who made a couple
of changes as well but did not deter our ladies who all put in a
masssive shift in the 2nd half and collectively out scoring Cromane
2-02 to 3 pts ending the match on a scoreline Cromane 3-13 to Ballymac
2-02 .our ladies deserve much credit  for the way the applied
themselves in this match and certainly showed great pride in the
jersey.

County League Division 4 ( ladies)

Annascaul   v  Ballymac

This game was played with great endeavour by our ladies , but the
result wasn`t ours to be.
The opening couple of minutes was pure end to end football with Annascaul opening their account after 2 mins with a fine point, shortly thereafter Sinead Mangan in goals (for the injured Robyn White) made a fine clearance to find Ellie Mc Elligott picking up the ball and racing forward to deliver a great ball to lisa curran who feed Emma Sweeney to fire over Ballymac first point of the match, then in the 8th min Ballymac were awarded a free kick after a foul on Millie Luck with the a point off the boot of Emma Sweeney, Ballymac up 2pts to 1 in the opening 10 mins, however Annascaul gain possession and broke forward and scored their2nd point of the match, however from their on Annascaul took a firm hold of this match and went on to score 2-02 without reply with Veronica heaslip minutes earlier having her goal bound shot blazespast the upright , both teams scored 2 more points each before whistle was blown for half time with both emma sweeeney  and Veronica heaslip scoring our points,

Within a minute of the re start to the 2nd half Annascaul scored again with a fine point , but again our ladies dug in to stem the tide with the hard working backline ofNiamh,Naomi ,Una , Veronica, and Meave , then a great inter-play by Una and Niamh releasing Claire Kenny to surge forward and deliver a passto Rachael Godley who release Lisa Curran only Lisa to be fouled ,the resulting free kick led to Lisa coverting our next point, however for the next 10 mins Annascaul dominated the proceedings scoring 2-04 without reply before we registered our next score coming from a good passage of play ending with Emma scoring our final point of the match, leaving the final scoreline Annascaul 4-16 to Ballymac 0-06.

The club like to thank Annascaul for post match refreshments a most welcomed gesture by the club to our ladies team.
