Feile U14 – Hurling
Congratulations to U14 team Member Brian Lonergan who represented Kerry in this years All Ireland Féile Hurling skills competition held in Co. Armagh last weekend. Brian did his family, his hurling club Parnells and Ballymac very proud indeed by finishing in a remarkable 4th overall, with counties of the hurling standard of Limerick, Waterford and Kilkenny in the top 3 it is truly a great achievement for Brian to finish on par with these great hurling counties and only for narrowly missing 3 frees he would have been in the top two. Along with finishing in 4th position Brian also brought home The Christy Ring Trophy for his fantastic efforts and high level of skills shown on the day. This trophy was for the highest ranked player from a Christy Ring Cup County. Well done Brian!

FAOI 14: Ballymac 8 21 Castlegregory 5 05
Played in perfect conditions last Monday evening Ballymac had a very comfortable win in the first round of this years Division 3 Central Region.

After their fine form shown in two challenge games the previous week Ballymac got off to a flying start with points from Daire Keane, Dylan Mc Hugh and David Rodgers before Castlegregory opened their scoring with a very well taken goal.

This goal was immediately ruled out by centre back Josh O Keeffe who goaled after a run from deep in his own half. Ballymac continued to apply pressure all over the field and this earned further points from Cillian Gallagher, Tadgh Brick and the ever improving Daire Chawke.

Ballymac conceded 2 defensive error goals which were ruled out before the short whistle with Daire Chawke and Tadgh Brick netting to leave half time score Ballymac 4-12 Castlegregory 3-01.
First score of the second half came from Daire Chawke who found the back of the net to settle Ballymac early in the half and with 3 goals from Daire Keane and score of the game from Diarmuid Lynch who hit the back of the net from 20 yards out.

With James Carmody kicking our last 2 points of the game the scorline did not do Castle any justice as they had some lovely passages of play.

Best for Ballymac were Tadgh Brick who controlled midfield from start to finish, Daire Keane at full forward who is now unmarkable and Darragh Lynch who worked very hard at wing forward. Many thanks to Club referee Roland Rogers for officiating on the night at such short notice as no referee turned up.

CAILINÍ: Following a bit of a wait we played Firies in the Division 4 semi final in Ballymac on Thursday 12th . It turned out to be a great game with both teams enjoying periods of dominance, we had a great start scoring 3 points from our first 3 attacks.

Firies came more into the game after that scoring 1-1 but we responded again scoring 2 more points before half time. We conceded an early goal in the second half but we responded very positively and 2 goals from Mary Healy and points from Rachel Godley and Aine Rice saw us lead by 5 pts with 10mins to go.\

Firies scored 2 points and with the last kick of the game they goaled to take it to a replay. Final score Ballymac 2-8 Firies 3-5

Replay was played in glorious sunshine on Sunday evening in Farranfore. A tighter game this time with defences on top for both sides.

Claire Kenny and Micheala Murphy playing quite well for Ballymac in defense and good play from U12 Ashling O Connell who scored 2 points and Aine Rice saw us lead by 5 pts to 4 pts at half time.

A very strong 2nd half display from midfielders Leah O Neill and captain fantasic Rose Ann O Shea and centre back Tara Murphy helped us finish out 1-8 to 5pts winners, our goal coming from Therese Keane from a great pass by Cora Savage.

Our backs all played very well on the night and a feature was their covering for each other , our U12s Eve , Lisa , Ashling and Cora really contributed too, Aine Rice played her heart out and Rose Ann O Shea led by example.

We play Laune Rangers B in the final time, place and date TBC . Well done to the girls and well deserved final appearance for them to look forward to now

FAOI 12: Ballymac A 5-15 Rahillys A 3-7.
Our final game in Division three county league, a win would ensure that we were crowned champions, and the boys did not disappoint.

The weather was glorious and the Ballymac pitch was in great condition. Straight from the throw in the lads got into the action and had a great tussle with a resolute Rahillys team. Some great passages of play ensued and our defence with Aidan O’Brien and Sean Pollman Daamen were well on top. At half time we lead 3-7 to 1-6. Strong words rang in the ears of the boys – don’t let this slip!

And they didn’t. Despite sweltering heat the lads pushed on, Eoghan Kenny and Kyle O’Connor put in huge work in the forward line. With Rahillys tiring and time running out our boys fitness drive them on to a great victory. Well done Division Three County League Champions!!
Team: Jack Tobin,Brian Cassidy, Aidan O’Brien, Sean Pollman Daamen, Ciaran Brosnan, Dylan Dunne Moriarty, Cian Godley, Darragh Broderick, Kyle O’Connor, Eoghan Kenny, Jon Lowe, Bryan Godley and Dara Leen.

FAOI 12 ( B): Ballymac V Rahillys.
A fine win for our U 11 boys as they displayed great skill and scoring against a depleted Rahillys side. The boys have just lost once in this league but it means a second place finish for them in the table. The boys can take great heart from the advances they have made since the start of the year. Keep up the great work boys.
