Ballymac U12s boys welcomed Beale, Ballybunion and Sliabh Luchra Gaels-a combination of Boherbue/Kiskeam to Ballymac on Tuesday evening last for challenge games.
Played in ideal weather conditions Ballymac fielded two teams with each team playing Beale and Sliabh Luchra before both travelling teams played each other. Finally Ballymac Blue and Gold teams battled it out!
Games were 20 minutes a side and officiated to the highest standards by our own referees Barry Lyons & Brian Lonergan.  Many Thanks to Paula and Doreen for serving tea and coffee to the travelling supporters and teams which was much appreciated by all.
This proved to be a very worthwhile evening of football for our boys who commence Central Region Competition with a home game v Stacks next Monday 5th August  in Ballymac.

U14Boys:
Both our u14 Boys teams recently completed their Central Region campaigns.

The Blue team competed in Division One and while they didn’t reach the knockout stage the games they played against a high standard of teams which should stand them in good stead for the forthcoming Castleisland District League.

Our Gold team reached the semi-final of their Division where they gave a very good account of themselves in their defeat to Laune Rangers.

This was the last competition of the season for the Gold team, they can look back with pride on their year winning their Division of the Co League as well as reaching the semi-final of the Central Region. A big Thank You to Teresa Gilroy for her wonderful match reports all season. They were a joy to read.

The u13 team are due to take part in the Tralee District League and the Rose Cup in the coming weeks.

Best wishes are extended to Alex Riordan and Thomas Leen two members of the U14 squad who are both recovering from hand injuries, hopefully we will see the lads back in action in the not too distant future.

U16 Boys
Ballymac Under 16s played their last round of The Lee Strand U16 County League on Wednesday night last.
They overcame  Kilcummin at home on a score line of Ballymac 2-16 to Kilcummin at 0-9. The half time score was Ballymac 1-05 to Kilcummin 0-5.
Match Report:
Our U16s played Kilcummin in the last round of the county league on Wednesday night last.
In ideal weather conditions Kilcummin got off to a great start and led by 3 points after 8 minutes. However our boys replied in style and scored 1 04 without reply to lead 1 04 to 0 03 points after 23 minutes of play .
Our boys were playing much better and were unlucky not be further ahead , having come close on several occasions. However we went in at the interval leading by 3 points on a scoreline of 1 05 to 0 05.
Both sides traded points early in the second half , but when Sean Horan scored our second goal , it was looking good for our boys .
Our defence worked hard , Adam Walker, Denis Brosnan, Adam Kelly and Ryan McHugh putting in a great display . Adam Sheehy and Cathal Culloty excelled at Midfield, working tirelessly to the end and overturning possession several times at midfield. Up front Adam Joy worked so hard , his two frees from 45 yards were of the highest quality, judging it to perfection.
Donal Daly added 3 points and when Maurice O’Connell added  4 points this put us in a commanding position. Daragh Sweeney worked hard up front getting on the ball time and time again giving good inside balls while covering back in a defensive role at times .
Gary Lynch made a huge impact when he was introduced, as did James Kenny . We ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of Ballymac 2 16 Kilcummin 0 09 .
Thanks to all parents for supporting us on the night , and well done to the team on a superb performance.

U6 Boys and Girls
We were very lucky with the weather on Sunday morning last!  The football session was about decision making and concentration. All the games played were based on both skills and the young boys and girls proved up to the task. Congratulations to our players of the week: Timmy Sheehan and Megan Lyons. We have training as usual next Sunday morning at 11.00am. Do not forget the gum shields.
