Health And Well Being

The Health & Well Being Committee of Ballymac GAA ran a very informative and vital seminar in the club rooms on Tuesday 24th November. Frank O’Rahilly from JigSaw Kerry  presented a one hour workshop. JigSaw Kerry is a free and confidential mental health support for young people aged 12 to 25 in Kerry.

The very enlightening, presentation demonstrated how any Adult  is or can be “One Good Adult” in the life of young person.

There was a great crowd in attendance  including The Kerry County Board Children’s Officer Bernie Reen. The seminar was excellent and very educational and everyone that attended left with a greater understanding of mental health and what influences our mental health. We also understood better the importance of the role of one good adult in supporting and promoting young peoples mental health.

We left with a clearer understanding of how to support and promote the mental health of the young people in our lives. Also we got contact numbers and information on how to contact JigSaw Kerry.

The club wish to thank Oonagh O’Rahilly and her team on the clubs Health & Wellbeing Committee for organising this vital seminar, everyone who attended and Frank O’Rahilly who took the time to make this presentation.
