Senior Team News

Senior Team-County League Commences:

The Credit Union Senior Football League commences on Sunday next the 8th March and Ballymac welcome Piarsaigh Na Dromada for the first game in this much loved and competitive league. The game commences at 2.00pm. We would really appreciate  your  support for our Senior Team who have trained in the dark nights and very poor weather to prepare for this league. We send our best wishes to the team and management.

Minor Team

Once again all Minor Leagues were called off this past weekend dure to the orange weather alert.

Our next  fixtures is  as follows:

Round 3: 7th March

Ballymacelligott V Kerins O’Rahillys

We wish the team and management well and we hope the weather improves and they get to start their season. it is difficult for all the minor players who are training and have not got the opportunity to start their County Minor League season yet.

The Kerry U20s

The Kerry U20s under captain Paul O’Shea got off to a good start to their season last Wednesday night when they defeated Limerick. They are now into the Munster Final when they play Cork in Austin Stack Park Tralee at 7.30pm.

Everyone in Ballymac GAA sends their best wishes to the ream and especially to Captain Paul O’Shea. Paul has been coming to Ballymac GAA since he was a very young boy accompanying his father Tom who has been a selector with various Ballymac teams down through the years. Tom is a current selector with our senior team and the O’Shea are steeped in Ballymac GAA for ever.  We are very proud of Paul and his achievements’ in the coveted Green & Gold Jersey.  We wish him every success. as captain of the U20 tea,

Scór News

We have three groups taking part in Scór Sinsear and they are all heading to the District Finals next Friday night at 8pm in Na Gaeil GAA Club rooms. The finals consist of competitors’ from Coiste Trá Lí and St. Brendan’s Board. We wish all our competitors’ every success in this competition. We are very thankful to each and every participant in Scór. They have spent hours over this cold and wet winter months training and practicing for the competitions.  Go néirí libh go léir.

Our amazing competitors’ are:

Rince Foirne: Michelle Broderick, Regina Goggins,  Emer Lynch, Aislinn Uí Bhrian, Kerry Carroll, Aileen Twomey, Ann Marie Brosnan and Colette Collins.

Amhránaíocht Aonair: Kerry Carroll.

Tráth Na gCeisteanna: Pádraig Ó Brian. Ted McCarthy, John Healy & Tom Herlihy.

Club membership is now open for 2020.

As in 2019 all membership is on line and the link is listed is on our web site.

The  membership cost of Ballymac GAA Club, as agreed at our AGM in December, is  as follows for the 2020 season.

(1) €75.00 per adult member.

(2) €50.00 per juvenile with the exception of girls over 12.

(3)€25.00 Plus LGFA Levy for all girls and ladies who play LF over 12 years of age

(4) €50.00 for OAP and students.

(5) €10.00 per  Adult  for Adult  Scór participants

(6) €5.00 per juvenile for Juvenile Scór participants

Coiste na nÓg News:

The big news this week was the weather. It played havoc with our Coiste Trá Lí fixtures and none of the U12 and U14 games went ahead as planned. The Health & safety of players comes first and we have a full round of fixtures for next weekend as follows:

U14 Boys

Our U14 Boys travel to Churchill on Sunday morning next the 8th March when they play Churchill in the Suits Select Sponsored Coiste Trá Lí  Division 1 League . The game is fixed for 11.00am

U12 Boys Teams

Our U12 Boys blue and Gold teams will play John Mitchels on Sunday 8th March

Timberland Kitchens & Flooring Coiste Trá Lí league Under 12 League.

ACADEMY

U10 Boys

Ballymac Boys U10,  had a good morning training at the IT north campus on Sunday morning even with the showers of hail stone! All Boys did very well on their skills and match play . See ye all next Sunday at IT north campus 1-2pm.

U8 Boys

That was a hardy bunch of boys who turned up for U8 training this Sunday. We’ll be back again next week same place in the I.T. Don’t forget to wear gum shields and €2 for the astro.

Foundation Level Course

Thanks  to the coaches who did the Foundation Level course on Saturday last  in Na Gaeil GAA Club.

Level 1 Coaching Course

Dates: March 11th,18th,25th and April 1st

Time: 7 – 9.30 each Night  Cost: 25€ per person

Venue: Tralee CBS hall.

It is expected of  any coach who doesn’t have this course done that they now attend this course. Please contact Stephen O’Brien, Club Coaching Offcier  if you are interested or have any queries about coaching courses.

Annual Fixture calendar 2020

The County Committee ratified the County Fixture Calendar last Monday night and the fixtures for the next 11 months can be seen and planned for. The full calendar for the year and this includes intercounty and club games can be downloaded now from our web site. This means players and supporters can plan their diaries for the year!

Ballymac GAA Lotto results from Monday 24th February 2020

This weeks lotto draw took place in Ballygarry House Hotel.

The Numbers drawn were: 13,14,20 & 25

The Jackpot was €6,700.00.

There was no winner.
