Notice for spectators and supporters

Spectators should be aware that all the risks posed from Covid-19 cannot be eliminated, including attending GAA games but that essential control measures have been put in place to reduce risks for members.

• Spectators must not attend games if they display any symptoms of Covid-19 and instead should phone their GP and follow public health advice

• Individuals that are considered high risk or are in close contact with others who are considered high risk should not attend games (click here)

• Spectators must note that much of the responsibility for managing Covid-19 risk remains with  yourself  particularly in relation to social distancing, wearing of face coverings and sanitation

• We advise all spectators to bring  your own hand sanitiser

• The use of face coverings is strongly advised for all patrons over the age of 13

• Spectators must not enter the field of play at any time including pre-match, at half-time and other intervals and after the final whistle or at end-of-match presentations

• Spectators have to keep to keep their own record of contacts at a match for potential tracing purposes

• All spectators should be encouraged to download the HSE tracing app (click here)

Social Distancing

• The current public health guidance advises a social distance of 2m be maintained between people. Further government guidance may change and the GAA’s assessment method may change as a result.

• Where small groups of people are attending games, members of these should wherever possible be from the same household.

• Individuals and small groups should remain insofar as possible in the same area for the duration of the game, remain 2m apart and avoid intermingling with other individuals or groups

• We ask you all  to practice and maintain social distancing

• Before, between and after games it is essential that spectators do not congregate in groups in the vicinity of the grounds as social distancing and contact tracing measures will be compromised and the potential risk of transmission higher

Contact Tracing

• We ask all our spectators attending any of our games  to restrict contact with individuals and groups outside their own household once inside the ground.

Coiste na nÓg

This week sees our U12 boys and U16 boys play their first competitive football for some time. We thank all our volunteers and coaches who put so much time into ensuring our games and pitches were in order for our teams to return to our games. Please note it is the responsibility of all parents to ensure the children use the sanitizing stations provided at every training session and games before and after each session. Once every parent ensures their child/children use it then everyone will be safe.

U12 Boys

Our under 12 boys have been back in training for 3 weeks and putting in a massive effort under new coach Frank Donavan. Each training session has been fully attended by the boys who are really binding well and playing as a team.

We had our first taste of championship action at home on Sunday against a strong An  Ghaeltacht  squad.

Our blue team had a nervous start and went 4 points behind before Eoghan Joy opened our account. Slowly but steadily we got into the game with some great passing moves and scores from Michael Quirke and Padraig Reidy. Cian Gilroy was rock solid in the full back position. In the second half we pulled away and at the final whistle we took the victory  5-10 to 2-08.

Our gold team settled well into the game with Shane Cassidy putting in some fine saves. Our midfield pairing of Liam Rahilly and Jack Collins dominated the centre of the pitch with Graham West our top scorer. The boys came out on top at the final whistle with a score of 5-15 to 2-07.

Next Sunday  sees our two teams travel to Kileen to play Na Gaeil at 6pm. The following week they are away to Kerins O’Rahillys at 6pm
