Ballymacelligott Ladies News

The first round of Last Man Standing saw 35 players knocked out. The next round will take place on the 3rd April. Participants are reminded to have their entries in by 3pm on Friday 2nd April.

With less than a month to go we have collected 11 stamp cards for the Lidl Level the Playing Field initiative. Thank you to everyone who has collected these stamps for us so far.  As the closing date of 11th of April draws closer we are hoping to have collected 50 stamp cards to get a set of jerseys for our Ladies club.

The Ladies Club in search of a Coaching officer to work alongside Stephen O’Brien. There is also a position available in our subcommittee for PR and Marketing for Ballymacelligott GAA and LGFA. Anyone who is interested in either of these posts should contact Sean Hennessy.

Senior ladies are all waiting patiently for the next government announcement. Until then players are continuing to do their own training. Big thanks to Senior player Michela Murphy for giving her valuable time with the zoom classes. Also, a big welcome to Stephen O Brien who is joining the management team for 2021.

U16 girls have had a great week of training. All the girls’ times for their runs have improved from the first one. Players are reminded to forward their times to their coaches. This week’s target is to improve on their time again. Over the Easter holidays the girls will have some online training with Michaela Murphy, one of our senior players. Keep up all the great work girls!

There is still time to support the KLGFA Fundraising Raffle. Tickets are €10 and there are some fantastic prizes on offer. Tickets are available on https://www.idonate.ie/5957_kerry-lgfa.html

Main Ballymacelligott GAA Lotto.

We are very grateful to everyone who has supported our main lotto over the years. To all those who sold tickets, purchased tickets  and helped in any way.
At our AGM in December 2019 a Motion was passed to increase the numbers in our lotto from 1-28 to 1-32 from 1st April 2020.

Before we had time to sort it COVID arrived and for Health and Safety reasons our Main Lotto was suspended on the 9/3/20.

We Started an online Interim Play Lotto with increased number 1-32 on:  8/6/20.

We have no idea when we can get back to selling lotto tickets physically nor when we will be able to go back into our pubs, Community Centres etc. to hold the draw. In view of this our executive took the decision last month to go totally on line with our main lotto from 5/4/21.

On the 29th March 2021 we will hold the lotto draw for the March 15th 2020 when our Main Lotto was suspended. The tickets that were included at that time will be drawn on that night with numbers from 1-28.

We will also hold a draw for our interim lotto on that day. Both draws will be live on Ballymacgaa Facebook Live and all draws going forward will be on Facebook live on Monday evenings.

Then we combine both lottos going forward and this includes both Jackpots (assuming none will be won). Anyone with tickets in the old lotto will be fully credited in the combined lotto going forward for any outstanding weeks on their tickets since the lotto was suspended.

As the numbers in the draw will increase going forward, we are in the process of canvassing everyone to see if they wish to keep their numbers or change them.

Once again, we sincerely thank you for your continued support of Ballymacelligott GAA Club.

Coiste na nÓg & Coaching & Games

Ideally everyone would now like to be out kicking ball and meeting in Ballymacelligott GAA pitch. However, this is not possible for the moment due to the Level 5 Covid restrictions. We all hope it will not be long before we are all back and in the mean time all our coaches are making a tremendous effort to keep our players going on line.

U17 Boys
Our U17s boys are under the remit of Coiste na nÓg this year. Chris Flannery the former Kerry Minor S&C coach is coaching them this year and has given the players a full home work out and nutrition plan to follow for 4 weeks. They have completed two weeks and they are working diligently on the plan.

U15 Boys
Cian Counihan is doing on line sessions with u15s for the next 4 weeks. One session done and three to go. Thanks to Cian for doing this.

U13 Boys
Our u13s are starting on line teams sessions from Sunday night 14th March. We wish to thank Ruraí O’Rahilly for the tremendous effort and interest put into this course.

Coiste na nÓg wish to thank Fionnán Fitzgerald for setting up the sessions on the GAA Teams facility. This is what is recommended by the GAA and the undertaking took a lot of time and effort to set up.  Technology is great-however a human has to input all the data for it to work well. Míle Buíochas Fionnán.

Membership
We thank everyone who has paid their membership so far this year. The on line facility to pay membership is on the club force app and the link is also on our web site.

Garda vetting
Hopefully we will soon be back on the pitch. In order to we be ready for 2021 season we need to have our Garda vetting up to date. All those vetted in 2016,2017 and 2018 now need to be re-vetted.

How do I get Garda vetted?
These are the steps
Go into wwww.kerrygaa.ie
