The Ballymac GAA U11 boys are delighted with their new Club jerseys, kindly sponsored by  Ballymacelligott  Company  C A Galvin LTD.  Ballydwyer.

Senior Team
The County League Fixtures for 2021 are out! It’s great to see fixtures coming.

The County League is scaled down to five games per team.Division 2 is split into A and B and we play in B. We have two home games and three away games in this competition. In this Division: Three teams are promoted –  the top team in each Section plus a play-off between second placed team in each Section

Ballymacelligott GAA is very grateful to Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa for sponsorship given to our club.

Latest News on Minor Competitions 2021

This is the most recent news on Minor County League and County Championships for 2021.

County League:

The following dates are penciled in for the Minor County League:

Round 1 on 7th June,

Round 2 on 14th June,

Round 3 on 21st June,

Note: The semifinals and finals will be completed after the regional leagues and when Kerry have concluded their Intercounty minor schedule.

County Championship:

Competition to be played after County Leagues are completed.

Regional Leagues:

To be played from Monday 28th June to Monday August 9th.
These leagues will not be extended past this date.

Note: Clubs will not have their intercounty players for this competition while intercounty minor team are still involved in their respective competitions.

Also ,the regional leagues are North, East and Central region. As agreed at underage structure review this year, South Kerry clubs will play in either Central Region or East Kerry.

Kerry Teams
Well done to all the Kerry teams in action last Sunday. A draw with Dublin for our Senior Team. It was a very enjoyable game. Also two great wins by the Kerry Ladies and The Kerry Senior Hurlers. Ciarraí Abú.

 

MEMBERSHIP
As notified by Croke Park the closing date for membership is the 31st May. Anyone who has not paid their Adult membership to the club by that date will not be eligible to vote at an AGM or be eligible for Club draw for All Ireland tickets.
We thank everyone who has paid their membership so far this year. The on-line facility to pay membership is on the club force app and the link is also on our web site. Everyone who returns to play, coach, mentor needs to have membership paid. This is vital so that everyone is covered to train and play going forward. Anyone with any difficulty you can contact Club Registrar Maureen O’Shea on 087-9795220.

Coiste na nÓg

Lotto Committee Present Cheque to Coiste na nÓg

On Sunday 23rd May with the background sound of enjoyment from our The Academy, Jer Lynch Chairman of Ballymac GAA Lotto Committee presented a cheque for €1500.00 to Declan O’Connell Chairman of Ballymac GAA Coiste na nÓg.

Jer said he was delighted that the lotto was up and running again.  He added that the lotto is well  supported  by  Club members, parents , grandparents, parishioner and many people outside the parish at home and abroad. All the profits from the Lotto go back into the club and he said he was delighted to present a  cheque for €1500.00 to the hard working Club Coiste na nÓg Committee to help defray their costs.

Declan O’Connell,said that both he and Ger Collins , were delighted with the lotto cheque towards Coiste na nÓg  expenses. He said that Juvenile playing gear and accessories cost €2400 in 2020 and it was important to invest the money made in the lotto back into the club and players. He thanked the lotto committee for their work and everyone who supports the lotto.

 

Academy

The Academy continued on Sunday morning for U7s. Once again it was a morning of fun, laughter and football. If you wish to help out for just one hour on Sunday mornings. It will be a decision you will not regret. You may not get paid to coach these excellent players but it will be the most rewarding hour of your week. Thanks for volunteering

Any child from the Parish between the ages of 5-9 interested in joining is welcome on Sunday mornings at 11am at our main pitch.

U9 Boys

Ballymac U9 had a good session on Sunday morningwith a big turnout of some old and new faces. The coaches went through all the skills but concentrated on the handpass this week. The boys were all looking forward to the Kerry match later on the day and they it showed in the game. They’ll all be Kerry stars in the future.

See you all again next week at 11am. Don’t forget gum shields and label the water bottle.

U11 Boys
Ballymac U11 Boys had two good training session on Tuesday and Saturday evenings.  They practiced plenty of skills and finishing off with a game.
On Saturday afternoon they proudly got together to thank CA Galvin Ltd, Ballydwyer for their sponsorship of their new Jerseys for the boys.  They all stood proudly for their photo.  Both the U10 and U11 boys are delighted with their new Club jerseys,  kindly sponsored by  Ballymacelligott  Company C A Galvin LTD.
Training continues every Tuesday evening 7pm-8pmand Saturday afternoon 5.30pm -6.30pm.  Ballymac Abú

 

U17 Boys.
As a mark of respect for the late Samantha Palmer we cancelled our Training on Monday evening.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to John & his family.
We are in division 2 A of the county league and our opponents are   Moyvane   Firies  & Beale/ Finuge .
We continue with training on Monday evening and Saturday morning with great turnouts on each occasion.
Our strength and conditioning continues on Thursday evening at the main pitch . Our Fixtures list are due to be released this weekend.

Last Man Standing

Congratulations to Eamonn Moriarty on winning our Last Man Standing. Commiserations to John O’Rourke who took Eamonn all the way. Presentation to take place with Lotto Draw on May 31st. We will be doing another LMS for the start the new season, we hope all will play again.

Play Ball Lotto

This week’s Ballymacelligott GAA Play Ball Lotto draw took place at The Club Grounds in Arrabella Live on Facebook on Monday 17th May at 6.10 pm.

Maureen O’Shea and Dave Slattery drew the numbers. Emma Sweeney was on camera.

The Numbers drawn were: 3,20,4 and 18. There was no winner of the Jackpot of €9100.00

Deepest Sympathy

It was with deep sorrow and heartbreak that everyone involved in Ballymacelligott GAA Club heard of the passing of Samantha Palmer of Barrakilla, Kielduff.

Samantha was such a shining light in so many people’s lives. We will all miss her terribly.

We extend our deepest sympathy to her husband John, her mother Bridget and her beloved children, Graham, Cathy, Ciara, Tommy & Jaye and to the extended Palmer and Ross families.

May She Rest In Peace.
