Academy:

Our academy superstars finished up their season of training with two very high paced, high scoring, high passing games of football. Who would have thought this group of just turned 4 to 6 year olds would have learned so much over the last six months! They’re a credit to all their families and it’s been put absolute pleasure to spend our Sunday mornings with them.

It’s a farewell to some of our older kids who’ve acted as deputy coaches this year. They’ll be missed but we know they’ll do brilliantly with the U7s next year.

And to all our other players, keep up the practicing and we can’t wait to see you back in the Spring.

Thanks to our two club captains Una Kerins and Daniel O’Shea for presenting our academy kids with their medals on their last session of the year on Sunday last, in glorious sunshine. Both Úna and Daniel are two great role models for our young players.

A special mention also to our Coaching Officer Stephen O’Brien who has worked tirelessly all year – co-ordinating, planning and ensuring that each child gets a chance to play.

To our team of Academy coaches, thanks for a great season and for your hard your work with the kids. All that dedicated work week in week out is showing in the improvements in skill levels and they are all improving no end. Without your help and guidance our Ballymac kids would not be flourishing the way they have been over the last number of years. Thanks to each groups nominated Co-Ordinator for all the news up- dates from each age group every week.

Thanks also to Joanne Long for her help with shop and organising all the special treats for the kids.  Thanks to Oonagh O’Rahilly for her help and all the fabulous videos of the Academy all year. Many Thanks to Paula Silles for all for photos she has taken.

Thanks to our Coiste na nÓg Chairman and Secretary Ger Collins for all the work all year and to Sean Hennessy, Declan and Stephen for the organisation of the presentation on Sunday last.

We wish to say a special Thank You to all our parents, guardians and grandparents who have brought the children to the Academy every Sunday morning. Thank you for taking part and supporting Ballymacelligott GAA  and being part of our Sunday morning community.

We are already looking forward to being back again on our pitches early in the new year. Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine

U13

Our u13 boys were involved in another thrilling encounter earlier on Sunday last 17th October  when they played Ardfert in the Division 2 Final of the Tralee/St Brendan’s League.

Throughout the game, there was very little between the team’s: level at half time, second water break, and at full time on a scoreline Ballymac 3-8 Ardfert 1-14.

Extra time continued in the same trend as both sides gave it their all with both sets of supporters getting behind their teams.

When the final whistle was blown it was certainly a case of a draw being a fair result as neither side deserved to lose at the end of a fantastic game of football.

Final score Ballymac 3-12 Ardfert 1-18.

The replay is not to be missed!

We will keep you updated on the date and venue …
