The Ballymacelligott U17 team : The Tralee/St Brendan’s Div 1 Runners Up 2021. 

Tralee /St Brendan’s Championship begins.  

The first round of the Tralee/St Brendan’s SFC that was postponed last week has now been refixed for next Sunday 12th December at 2pm. The game is on in Kileen. All support welcome.

Na Gaeil V Ballymac   Sunday 12th December at 2p.

Ballymac GAA AGM  

As a Mark of Respect for the passing of Maura Cassidy Mother of Bernard Cassidy our Vice-Chairperson, The Club AGM was postponed by one week to Wednesday 8th December at 7.15pm.

The Ballymacelligott GAA Club AGM will be held Online at 7.15pm  this Wednesday 8th December 2021.

It will be held via Zoom. The link for the meeting will be sent out at approximately 6pm that evening along with the main report. We hope that as many members as possible will be able to link in and interact with it as best as possible.

It will be followed by the Coiste na nÓg AGM at 8.30pm on the same link.

Official Opening of Kerry Centre of Excellence in Currans  

The Official opening of the Kerry Centre of Excellence in Currans took place last Saturday. Congratulations to Chairman Tim Murphy and everyone involved for the perseverance and hard work over the past ten years to bring this massive project to fruition.  A dream for decades has finally come true!

Congratulations to Austin Stacks on winning the County Senior Championship on Sunday last and to Na Gaeil on winning the County Intermediate Championship on Saturday. It’s been a great year for Coiste Trá Lí Clubs!

U17 Boys

Commiserations to our U17s team and mentors. Ye did us proud all year. Losing  in extra time in the Tralee/St Brendan’s final last Sunday ended what was a long and very successful year for this team and mentors. They won two finals and more importantly made massive strides this past year with every individual player working hard on their game.  We wish all our players well who on Sunday played their last game with Coiste na nÓg and will now play at senior level going forward.

Eddie O’Connell has this message from the U17 Coaches:
“On behalf of the u17 Coaches we would like to thank all the players for putting in a Great effort all year in Training and for putting in some wonderful performances in all their games in 2021.

We would like to thank all coaches who helped out in the last 13 years with this group of players, your time and effort is greatly appreciated.

We would like to thank all parents for their support in 2021 and in all previous years at underage from u 6 – u 17.

We would like to Thank our Senior Chairman Mike Sweeney for his wonderful support during these difficult times, Club Secretary/ Pitch organiser Fionnan Fitzgerald for being so accommodating to our u 17 Team .

We would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to Coaching Officer Stephen o Brien for his Support, expert advice and great leadership during the 2021 Season, Our PRO Maureen o Shea for promoting our Games on social media and up to minute scores on Twitter during our Competitive games.

We would like to thank Coiste na Nog Chairman Declan O Connell, Secretary Ger Collins for their hard work and great support to our u 17 s During the last 3 years  .

Match Report

Ardfert were on top for most of the game but Ballymac showed great fighting spirit to level the game with a goal at the end of normal time. Ardfert dominated in extra time to win on a scoreline of 2-16 to 1-12. Well done to both teams on an exciting game.

Ballymac GAA Coiste na nÓg AGM

The Coiste na nÓg AGM will not take not now take place online Wednesday 8th December at 7.30pm 2021 immediately after the senior AGM.

Ladies News  

Our Ladies club AGM was held last Monday night in the club rooms. The Chairperson, Sean Hennessy, presented Pa White (outgoing Secretary) and Veronica O’Donnell (outgoing PRO) with an appreciation award in acknowledgement of their commitment to the club over the past number of years. Go raibh míle maith agaibh!

We welcome Deirdre Millane (incoming secretary) and Aislinn O’Brien (incoming PRO) and wish them success in their roles.

Ballymac GAA Play Ball Results for Monday 29th November 2021 

Last Monday night’s Play  Ball Lotto draw was made by Kevin Leen and Sean Hennessy at our Ladies Club AGM.

The numbers drawn were 2, 31, 16, and 1.

There was no winner of the Jackpot of €11,900.00
