Club Senior Team

Daingean Uí Chúis v Ballymac GAA

On Sunday afternoon, in dry and humid conditions our Senior Men’s team faced Daingean Uí Chúis in Rd. 6 of the Div. 1 County league in Dingle.

Over the first 30 mins, in an intense battle, Dingle proved to be more clinical when the opportunities presented themselves and lead at HT 1-07 to 0-04

Dingle started the better in the second half and scored the first two points of the half, however Ballymac continued to stay in contention & eventually Vinny Horan struck a bullet of a goal to bring it back to just 3 points of a difference with 15 minutes to play.

However, it was Dingle who showed great game management in the closing stages and deserved the victory on a score line of 1:14 to 1:10.

Our lads showed great tenacity & fitness levels in a bruising and energy sapping contest. Many learnings to take from the game despite the result

Up next is Dr Crokes at home in Ballymac next weekend, final details will be posted on social media during the week.

Under 15 Blue Team

County League Division 1 semi-final.

Playing away to Austin Stacks in the Division 1 semi-final was the teams reward for finishing second to Kenmare in our side of the group stages. Having won four out of five games to qualify we entered the game as underdogs to a fancied Austin Stacks team who had gone unbeaten in their group and also had emerged winners over us in the Feile final a week previous.

A good start was necessary for our boys but unfortunately it was Stacks out of the blocks straight away with a goal in the first minute.

Slowly our boys got into the game in general play but as they say scores win games and our lads failed to convert several chances in the opening twenty minutes to stay in contention with our hosts.

They had no such problems in their forward division and took scores whenever they presented themselves. Down ten points and halftime the second half was always going to be an uphill battle and this proved to be the case especially when we lost a player to a second yellow card midway through the second half.

The boys can be really proud of their county league exploits apart from this game which no doubt will make them stronger and more determined to make amends for the performance down the road. Final score Austin Stacks 4-18 Ballymac 0-06.

Under 11s

Our U11 Boys played Stacks in Connolly Park, Tralee on Thursday evening.

We fielded two teams of 11 a-side football with no subs.

Our gold team knew it would be a battle but were ready for a tough game of football. They ran ragged up and down the field and Daithi was unlucky to hit the crossbar. The first half resulted in only a few points.

It was in the second half that the boys became more determined and scored a few goals again hitting the crossbar at least once. Our boys played with great heart and never gave up. Thanks to Stacks for hosting and well done to our boys.

There is a break in our games for a few weeks but we’ll be back training next week.
