SENIORS
Ballymac Seniors travelled to Connolly Park last Saturday to take on Austin Stacks Seniors in the Tralee Town Championship.Ballymac travelled with what would be considered an under strength team with many first team regulars absent. However the final result of Austin Stacks 0.17 to Ballymac 3.6 proved this to be otherwise. The fifteen players present for Ballymac on the night played with heart and determination and did their club proud against last years county champions.

The home side had four points on the board before Ballymac registered their first score from a long ball in which was touched into the Stacks net by Padraig Laide. Stacks tagged on two more points before the outstanding Vinny Horan goaled for Ballymac. Two more points for Stacks were cancelled out by points from frees by Aidan Breen and Christy Leen. The sides finished level at half time on a scoreline of Austin Stacks 0.8 to Ballymac 2.2

The first three points in the second half were scored by Stacks , two from frees and 1 from play. Michael Herlihy responded with a point for Ballymac. Two more points from Stacks left them 4 ahead half way through the second half. This was reduced to 2 with points from Michael Herlihy and a well worked point from Mossy Shanahan. Stacks added two more points but Aiden Breen reduced the deficit to 3 points with a point from play. Luke Sweeney was fouled in the square and the resulting penalty was goaled by Aidan Breen . With five minutes to go the sides were level , Stacks edged out in front with a point from play and in the final minute tagged on another point from a free to leave the final score at Austin Stacks 0.17 to Ballymac 3.6.

BALLYMAC 1-12 RATHMORE 1-8
We are in another final!!! . After a well deserved win over Rathmore in Ballymac last Wednesday we are through to the final of division 3 county league. We got off to a good start with points from Liam O’ Malley, Dara Reagan, and Josh putting us 3 points up after 5 minutes. Rathmore then pointed from a free.Midway through the half 5 further points were scored inside 5 minutes. Two were from Rathmore and 3 for Ballymac with our scorers being Dara Keane, Liam O’Malley, and a Dara Reagan free. A goal attempt from far out by the visitors brought a fine save from Brian Lonergan. Our opponents finished the half strongly with two late points. The half time score was Ballymac 0-6 Rathmore 0-5.

We made a fine start to the second half. Keelan was fouled and found Dara Reagan with a quick free and he got our first point of the half. Soon after confusion in the Rathmore goalmouth from a Dara Reagan free was taken advantage of by Barry Lyons who found the net. Liam O’ Malley pointed and then turned provider for Josh who also pointed. We were now 7 points ahead but Rathmore were not giving up. The scored a goal and two points inside 4 minutes to reduce the lead to two points. However Ballymac responded and Josh put Dara Reagan through for a fine long range point. A fine piece of defending by Liam O’ Malley interrupted a visitors attack and Dara Keane pointed for us. He scored again a few minutes later. Again it was Liam O’ Malley going full stretch to block a certain score. Eddie Rodgers and Eoin O’ Malley were in fine form in defence and our opponents could not get the goal they needed.

The final is against Listowel Emmets and is fixed for next Wednesday the 12th of August with the time and venue TBC.
