Senior Team

In warm sunny conditions Ballymac welcomed Waterville for Rd. 2 of the Junior Premier championship.

With Waterville looking to bounce back from a defeat to Keel in Rd. 1 and Ballymac looking to follow up their victory over Ardfert this was always going to be hotly contested match.

Waterville started well scoring first, however there was never more than 1 point between the sides in the first half. At the half Ballymac lead by the barest margin 0-06 to 0-05.

In the second half the pattern of play continued in the early stages before Ballymac  opened a 4-point lead 0-10 to 0-06 with 50 mins on the clock.

A goal close to full time drew Waterville level, however a late point by the home side secured victory for Ballymac by the narrowest of margins.

final score Ballymac 0-11 Waterville 1-7

Ladies News

Senior Ladies

On Thursday night we played Cromane in the Donal Curtin Division 3 Cup Final in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney. In what was an closely contested game we unfortunately came out at the wrong end of a 3 point defeat, 2-7 to 0-10.

It was a fantastic experience for the Ladies to get a chance to play their Cup Final in such an auspicious venue. It was a great learning experience for all the squad and management and we will be back again, as we had a very young side out.

Also it was good to see the gap closing on a Cromane side that completely outplayed us in the Junior C Final just three years ago. Well done to all the Ladies and the backroom team of Anthony Curran, Stephen O’Brien, David Keane, Donal Rahilly and Oonagh O’Rahilly on such an outstanding Donal Curtin Cup Campaign, where we played and defeated teams one and two grades above us in Club Championship.

Squad is as follows, Robyn White, Grainne Galvin, Roisin Long, Ciara Kerins, Kate Collins, Una Kerins, Millie Luck, Aishling O’Connell, Emily O’Brien (0-1), Eve Creedon, Roisin Rahilly (0-6) Keelin Enright, Ellie McElligott, Lisa Curran, Ella Quirke (0-3), Kerry Hennessy, Niamh Rahilly, Caoimhe Carroll, Sinead McKeown, Naomi O’Sullivan, Shonagh Griffin, Rachel Creedon, Rachel Griffin, Veronica Heaslip, Orla O’Connor, Deirdre Millane, Hazel McCarthy, Debra O’Connor, Aoibhinn Broderick and Emma Daly.

Tuesday Night is a big night for our underage teams as our U14 Ladies play their Division 5 County League B Final v Firies. We are still awaiting a time and venue.

Our Minor Ladies have their County League Division 1 Semi Final away to Southern Gaels in Cahersiveen at 7pm. This is a huge game for our ladies, up against a formidable force, but they are really up for the challenge.

As always, All Support Will Be Greatly Appreciated.

The Senior Ladies Club Championship will be starting on Monday Week the 22nd August at home in Ballymac versus our neighbours John Mitchels.

The North Kerry Programme will be starting soon for our U14 and U16 Ladies sides and also the straight knockout U13/15/17 Championships.

Academy

Thank you to all the kids and parents who facilitated the earlier start to the Academy this week so the pitch could be prepared for the senior men’s game against Waterville.

We had a great morning of silly games, skills drills and practice football games. It’s a delight to see the improvements week on week in our up-and-coming Ballymac superstars.

Under 10 girls

The U-10 girls played Castleisland Desmonds on Friday night in Ballymac. With over 30 girls in attendance from Ballymac Both teams can be very proud of their performances.

The early start for the academy did not put anyone off with great attendance on a hit and sunny morning.

Under 11 Boys

U11 played Away to Churchill on Thursday 4th August. Although it has been a while since our last game the boys turned out in force.

Our gold team displayed some super football skills on the night. They had the wind against them in the first half and still managed to pull off some excellent scores. Churchill never gave up but our boys were definitely the better side.

Big thanks to Shane, Conor, Mikey and Daniel from U9.

Well done boys keep up the hard work.

Next week we play Kerins O’Rahillys at 7pm in Ballymac.

Under 13 boys

Ballymacelligott U13 Gold team took on Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane team today in Cromane. This game turned out to be a cracker in very hot conditions.  The GGC side took an early lead of 1-01 to no score. The Ballymac boys never lost their composure taking the lead with two well taken goals by Seadhna o Brien.

The GGC side came out in the second half a determined outfit scoring two goals of their own to draw level. Conor Lynch played a superb roll and was denied two goals through great goalkeeping. Another goal and two points by Patrick Leen saw the Ballymac side pull ahead again. Tit for tat scoring saw the sides level again when substitute David Feeley put one over the bar. Final score Ballymacelligott 4-07 to GGC 4-06.

Well done to Adrian O’Connor who was part of St. Brendans Park u13 Soccer squad who reached the final of the Galway Cup over the weekend.

Under 15 Boys

Well done to our players who were part of the Castleisland District team last Wednesday night. They played against Eoghan Rua in the first round of the Lee Strand U15 District Championship.
