Under 13 Boys

Ballymacelligott U13 boys were invited to take part in the Raymond O’Hagan inaugural football blitz at Mungret St Paul’s Limerick Last Saturday the 22nd of October. The blitz would be 15 aside with 10min per half.

A full bus of excited boys left Ballymacelligott GAA pitch at 8am. We made our way to the outskirts of Limerick city arriving in plenty of time to prepare for our first game against Mungret White.

We lined out on the juvenile pitch and won our first game 3.7 to 2 points.

Our second game was against Mungret Red which was a tougher game but we still won 2.6 to 1.2.

Our third game was against Lissycasey from Clare this game proved to be a tougher task which we lost 6 points to 3 points. Despite the loss we made it into the cup final against the team which we just lost to.

We broke for lunch before the final and we would like to thank the Mungret St Paul’s parents for providing the fine spread of tea sandwiches treats and crisps.

The final was played on the senior pitch and it was a cracking game with all the lads giving 110%.

There were some great individual displays but more importantly a superb team performance.

Unfortunately, we lost by the tightest of margins 1.3 to 1.4

Congratulations to Lissycasey

We left for home soon after and the boys chatted and sang all the way home.

Boys that travelled were Jack Lynch, Gearoid O’Connor, Darragh McMahon, Gearoid Joy, Harvey Leen, Fionn Enright, Eric Quirke, Jack Collins, Jackson Brosnan, Liam Rahilly, Ryan Burke, Daniel Moriarty, Patrick Leen, Graham West, Conor Lynch Shane Cassidy, Jamie Harrington, Tadgh O’Connor, Ciarán Brosnan, and Kyran Boyle

It was a great day out well done to all the boys

U11 Boys

Our last day of football for this 2022 season saw the u11 boys tog out on a very wet Saturday morning for a final fling in the Ballyrickard Blitz. As it turned out the majority of the day stayed fine and 16 die hard boys turned up to play matches against Kilmacud Crokes and St Pat’s Blennerville.

The boys played 4 matches in this non-competitive competition and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a really well organised blitz and thanks to KOR for hosting.

Surprise guest Paul Murphy dropped in to watch the boys play and pass on a few words of wisdom to the boys.

Well done to all and what a great ending to our football season.
