The lotto was held in Gleduff House on Monday 31st August 2015 for a lotto jackpot of €8,100.  Numbers drawn were 8,17,19,23.  There was no winner.

SENIORS

Ballymac travelled to Cordal on Saturday last to take on Castleisland Desmonds in the St.Kieran’s Championship Final.

Ballymac came into this game without some of their regulars. They were first to score with a point from play by Christy Leen in the first minute. Desmonds responded quickly through a point from their full forward Cian O Connor.  Aidan Breen and Cian O Connor exchanged points before Desmonds were awarded a penalty which they duly converted.

This was cancelled out when Eanna Reidy got on to a long high ball into the square and  finished to the net. This left the score at 1.3 a piece with fifteen minutes gone. Christy Leen pointed a free for Ballymac and Cian O Connor pointed a free for Desmonds. Five minutes later Christy Leen edged the Ballymac in front again with a pointed free.

This was increased to two points when Vincent Horan pointed from play. The last five minutes belonged to Desmonds , they scored 1.3 — points from Pat Fitzgerald , Maurice O Connell, Sean Lynch and a goal from Thomas Lynch. This left the half time score at  Ballymac 1.6 to Desmonds 2.7

The second half opened like the first with Ballymac scoring first with a pointed free by Christy Leen.  Desmonds replied with two points through Cian O Connor from a free and Sean Lynch from play.

Christy Leen added another point for Ballymac from play. Desmonds began to dominate and scored  1.2 in the next three minutes leaving the score at the end of the third quarter at  Ballymac  1.8  Desmonds  3.11

Aidan Breen and Sean Lynch exchanged points. Desmonds went on to score 1.4 putting their score at 4.15 with five minutes to go.  Ballymac responded with a goal from Eanna Reidy and a point from Aidan Breen to let the final score at  Ballymac 2.10 to Desmonds 4.15

Our Senior team have now two games left in the Co. League.  Firstly we travel to An Ghaeltacht on the weekend of 27th September 2015 and have Ardfert in our final Co. League game at home at a date to be announced.

FAOI 21
The Churchill/Ballymac U21 team bowed out of the U21 Club Shield Competition when we were defeated by a strong Glensflesk side.

GOLF CLASSIC

ALL IRELAND MINOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Congratulations to Club player Tomas O Connor who was part of the Kerry Minor Hurling team which won the All Ireland Minor B Hurling Championship with a comprehensive win over Roscommon on Saturday evening last in Limerick.

KERRY WAY ULTRA MARATHON

Well done to U8 girls trainer Terence O Connor who completed the 200k Kerryway Ultra marathon on Saturday last.

FAOI 10

Our U10 boys had 2 very good games against Ardfert on Sunday last when we travelled back to play them.  Amongst those who played well on the day were Thomas Leen, Conor Martin, Keelin Lynch, Diarmuid Galvin, Padraig Heffernan and Tommy Palmer.  Our attention now turns to the Castleisland District Blitz which takes place in Currow on Sunday morning next at 10.00am.

FAOI 8

Our U8 teams welcomed Kerins O Rahillys to Ballymac on Sunday morning last where our boys played some excellent football in the two games we played.

CAILINI FAOI 14

Congratulations to our U14 girls team who had a superb 4 10 to 1 06 victory over Finuge St Senans in the Division 3 Co. Final played in Knocknagoshel on Sunday evening last.  Great credit for this victory must go to team mentors Donal Rahilly, Anthony Curran and Pa White.  A full report on this game will be in next weeks notes.

SYMPATHY

The Club extends its sympathy to U10 girls mentor Senan Raggett on the recent death of his grandfather in Kilkenny.
