SENIORS

Following their good win over Na Gaeil in Round 1 of the St. Brendans League, our Seniors return to action this weekend with a Round 2 game away to Churchill.  With the Kerry game due to be played on Sunday, please check Facebook and Twitter for starting time and day for this game.

MINORS

BALLYMAC 4-3         NA GAEL   1-13

The minor football season began with a home game against Na Gael in the Tralee town league. Ballymac lined out minus several key players and with others playing in unfamiliar positions. Na Gael pointed early on while Keelan was on hand to flick Dara Reagans free to the net.

Dara Keane followed with a point. Our opponents then got 5 points to go 2 points up. Max O Brien and David Long were doing well in defence and ML Hoare made some fantastic runs upfield .Dara Keane again pointed from a Dara Reagan pass the latter then pointed himself. The visitors got  the last point of the half which left the half time score Na Gael 0-7 Ballymac 1-3.

Na Gael got two more points on the resumption but Ballymac were finding scores more difficult to come by. Mid way into the half Eoin O Malley worked his way  along the endline before passing to Barry Lyons who finished to the net.

Minutes later Liam O Malley took a pass from D Reagan and again goaled and we were now 3 points ahead. The visitors then hit a purple patch scoring 1-4 without reply.  Dara Keane was brought down in the square and Keelan (who played on despite injury) converted the penalty. Unfortunately there was time for no more and a highly energetic performance just failed to bring victory. We are due to play Kerins  O’Rahillys away next weekend.
