BANKS in Tralee and Cara Credit Union have introduced priority banking hours for the elderly and vulnerable.

In AIB they are asking elderly and vulnerable customers to visit before 11am each morning and for other customers to come later that day to do their banking.

To maintain social distancing, they are limiting the number of customers in branches at any one time, so this may result in some people having to wait outside for a while.

Bank of Ireland also has dedicated the time of 10am to 11am for people over 65 to do their banking. Cara Credit Union are introducing similar measures to protect the vulnerable and senior members by limiting the time they spend in any of their branches.

They are prioritising these members between the hours of 10am to 11am each day until further notice in all three of their branches in Tralee, Castleisland and Killorglin.

They ask that other customers respect this time period to allow more vulnerable members to carry out their transactions. They are also reminding members that all three branches will be closed on Saturday 21st and Saturday 28th March.
