THE first big Banna Beach Clean-Up of the summer takes place this Saturday morning.

The Banna Coastcare group is encouraging everyone to come along meeting at 10am in the main car park with the clean-up scheduled to finish at 11.30am.

As an extra incentive to make it a family morning out, Maeve Ferris of Salty Souls Cafe Banna has kindly offered a free Kids Hot Chocolate to the little ones taking part.

The morning will kick off with a talk from Ray Foley of Clean Coasts. Volunteers are asked to bring their own durable gloves and litter-picks.

Volunteers are asked not to share clean-up equipment and not to take part in the clean-up if they feel unwell or if they have been in contact with somebody who had COVID-19 in the past two weeks.

Social distancing is to be maintained and contact information of all volunteers attending the clean-up will be recorded. There will be hand sanitising before and after the clean-up.

This will be the first of three summer clean-ups with one planned for mid-July and another for mid-August.
