GARDAI were called to Banna Beach earlier today over concerns people were not adhering to social distancing guidelines.

The beach had to be cleared due to large groups of people congregating there taking advantage of the fine weather.

Over the past few days, people have been using the beaches, Canal walkway and other popular walking spots around Tralee to get exercise and fresh air.

While people are not prohibited from getting out walking and running, it’s advised they do not meet up in groups and should strictly observe the 2m or 6ft gap between each other.

Meanwhile, the latest figures from the HSE this evening show there are nine people in Kerry with the Coronavirus, an increase of one from yesterday.

In all there are 906 people with the virus in the country, an increase of 121 on yesterday and four people have died so far. While the increase might not seem high, tens of thousands of people are waiting to be tested.
