BANNA Coastcare, in collaboration with Tralee Tidy Towns and Munster Technological University Kerry Green Campus, will take part in this year’s Big Beach Clean on Sunday September 12, from 11am – 12pm.
Volunteers are invited to meet in the Main Car Park before 11am and to bring their own gloves and pickers.
The Big Beach Clean is a Clean Coasts initiative. During the Big Beach Clean, volunteers will be asked to carry out a marine litter survey to quantify the amount and types of litter found on Banna.
These surveys are aimed at heightening awareness about the issue of marine litter and serve as an indicator of the magnitude of the problem.
