HUNDREDS of fitness enthusiasts are expected to converge on Banna Beach this Saturday for what has become the bi-annual Beast Challenge.

Last April around 500 adults and an incredible 450 children turned up in the sunshine to face the obstacles on courses of varying lengths.

For adults it’s a 7km military-style obstacle challenge with walls, rope climbs, swings, slides, tyre flips to mention just a few. There’s a bespoke medal and after party BBQ for the challengers.

The first wave of participants will set off at 12 noon. Tickets for the event range from €12.50 for the Mini-Beast to €45 for the 7km competitive obstacle race. Click here to see all the options
