PHOTOGRAPHERS from all over the county gathered at the Fels Point Hotel on Sunday to show some of their spectacular work.
The ‘Kerry Landscapes Photography Exhibition’ showcased the stunning scenery the county has to offer and the event was a great success.
“It’s gone great,” said one of the organisers, Keith McGlynn from Tralee. “Because it’s our first time we weren’t sure what to expect but we had a great crowd in throughout the morning and again this afternoon. A lot of us are making sales here and there too, but it’s really to get our names out there to the public,” said Keith.
The photos on display were quite beautiful and were taken in all parts of the county. We spoke to a few exhibitors about their work.
“I’m at the photography for about 10 years now,” said Bernard Fitzgerald from Castlegregory. “It’s just a hobby really, my daughter caught the bug from me and wherever we go around the country we take the camera,” he said.
“It was a hobby but then I started being asked to take photos at people’s family events so I decided to take on customers and show my work off,” said Susan Browne. “I do both landscape and portraits but I love the portraits,” said Susan.
“I’m trying to promote Kerry through the photography,” said Breda Canty from Lixnaw. “I take a lot of photos in Banna and Ballyheigue. I love that part of Kerry,” she said.
“About four years ago I joined Killarney Camera Club and since then I got more and more interested in it,” said Terry McSweeney from Milltown. “It’s just a hobby. It’s mainly landscape photography from Killarney, Killorglin, Glenbeigh and Rossbeigh,” he said.
