THE Banna lady who won Best Dressed Lady at Ladies Day at the Dublin Horse Show last year, has given tips to ladies travelling to the event next month and revealed how she spent her €10,000 in vouchers for the Dundrum Town Centre.

This year’s Dundrum Town Centre Ladies Day takes place at the RDS on August 10 and Claire Murphy gave the following four main tips for anyone wishing to follow in her footsteps;

• “Dress appropriately for the weather. The Dublin Horse Show is on in August but there is no guarantee of sunshine and blue skies.

• My advice would be to wear an outfit that reflects who you are and one that suits your body shape.

• It’s a long fun-filled day so wear comfy shoes as you will be walking on grass as well as concrete.

• For anyone taking part in the fashion stakes, arrive early, have a glass of bubbly with your friends and have a great day out.”

Speaking about her €10,000 Dundrum Town Centre prize, Claire said; “My prize for winning the ‘Best Dressed Lady’ at the Dublin Horse Show was a whopping €10,000 for Dundrum Town Centre. My father has a saying “Don’t spend it all in the one shop” so with that in mind, I spread the 10k around.

One of the things on my “bucket list” is to go to New York to visit friends so my first port of call was to Cassidy Travel and I booked a trip the The Big Apple for October.

While I was there, I also purchased a voucher from Cassidy Travel and hope to go on a long haul holiday in January with my husband. Destination TBC!

I took a trip to BT2, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, Clarks and Coast to mention just a few. I have a teenage daughter so we have had some great days out over the last year.

On one occasion, we went to Inglot to get her make up done, followed by a trip to Mac in BT2, Calvin Klein, Hollister, and Urban Outfitters followed by a fabulous meal in Siam Thai.

It really is the prize that keeps on giving as I’ve still some of my voucher leftover for my next visit. Good luck to all the lovely ladies planning to enter this year!” said Claire.

This year’s Dublin Horse Show takes place at the RDS from August 9 – 13th.

Alongside a five-day equestrian programme, the show has much to offer visitors with over 300 stands offering some of the best in fashion, craft, as well as equine products, from both home and abroad.

The Dundrum Town Centre Ladies’ Day takes place on Thursday 10th August with the winning lady walking away with a €10,000 voucher for Dundrum Shopping Centre. Other categories on the day include Great Lengths ‘Most Creative Hat’ and Louis’ Copeland’s ‘Best Dressed Man’.
