FOR what’s now become an annual fixture of Christmas celebrations, the Bill Kirby Memorial Walk will take off once more from Rock Street on St Stephen’s Day.

Festive attire is encouraged for the Christmas walk (or run) which would go some way in working off some excesses of the day before.

A few hundred people took part in the walk last year which has raised €273,000 to date for charity ever since it began as a fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society back in 1999. Since 2006, all money raised has gone to the Kerry Hospice.
