TOP comedy acts are returning to Tralee over the next month with three shows on the way in The Blasket Bar on Castle Street.

Having hosted such well known acts as Karl Spain and Bernard O’Shea late last year, acclaimed comedians Chris Kent, Shane Clifford and Eleanor Tiernan will perform over three nights in January and February.

Barry Duggan of The Blasket explained why they are bringing high-calibre stand-up acts to the town.

“It’s just something different for town where people can come down and enjoy over two hours of comedy and a few drinks. There’s been a massive response to the shows we’ve had so far,” said Barry.

Chris Kent

Chris Kent from Cork is first up this year on The Blasket comedy stage when he performs his stand-up ‘Looking Up’ on Friday, January 25.

The award-winning comic has shared the stage with such luminaries as Bill Burr, Dylan Moran, David O’ Doherty, PJ Gallagher and Neil Delamare.

He has many T.V. appearances under his belt including the RTE 2 panel show Next Year’s News, and The Craig Doyle Show.  On radio, he has been a regular panelist for the RTE Radio 1 Show The Second Republic, and a guest panelist on BBC’s The Blame Game. For tickets to see Chris Kent in The Blasket, click here

Shane Clifford

Shane Clifford needs little introduction to locals. The Tralee man started doing comedy in 2015 and his YouTube/facebook videos have garnered high praise.

He has appeared at the Vodafone Comedy Festival, Cork Comedy Festival, Castlepalooza, and in all of Ireland’s top comedy clubs.

He recently performed his first solo show to a sell out audience in Whelans, Dublin, so expect tickets to his Tralee gig on Thursday, February 7 to sell out fast. You can get them by clicking here

Eleanor Tiernan

Then on Thursday, February 21, acclaimed comedian Eleanor Tiernan comes to town. From Irish Pictorial Weekly, Bridget and Eamon and BBC Radio 4’s News Quiz, her new show recounts her struggles to live a happy and comfortable life without releasing a sex tape.

It includes cautionary tales, tips on how to avoid ending up having your intimate private details available online and cat cafe etiquette. You can buy tickets by clicking here

Tickets for each gig can also be bought from The Tech Co. on Dominick Street. For information on all the gigs, check out The Blasket Comedy Club facebook page for more announcements and updates.
