THE  annual Blennerville Windmill threshing festival takes place next Sunday and there’s a wonderful line-up of entertainment for the day.

This is one of the oldest steam threshing and vintage car display in Kerry running since 1989 and with a family fun day and a visit from some of the Kerry minor 5 in a row winning team it’s set to be special.

Thomas the Tank Engine in partnership with Chernobyl Children International, will be there and a  supervised cinema with Thomas the Tank show running.

There’s a large model train exhibition, bouncy castle, flour making, dog show, hoover craft and much more.

Blennerville windmill threshing was started by Mike Curran the miller at the windmill for 32 years with Billy Mason, Timmy Kerins and Paddy O’Shea .

For the last 27 years, big crowds from far and near have come to see the steam threshing which is well supported by the local business and locals alike.

With vintage cars, tractors and machinery and a parade that goes through the village, there is something for everyone and is a stalwart in the annual calendar for Blennerville and the Tralee area.
