The Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee has won another national award.

THE Bon Secours Hospital Tralee, Ireland’s Private Hospital of the Year for 2014, has scooped another top award at the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) Occupational Safety Awards.

The hospital was awarded a NISO Regional Award – ‘Best Organisation in the South Region’ at the Awards Presentation which took place in The Radisson Blu Hotel in Galway on Friday, October 2.

The Bon Secours Hospital Tralee Manager, Donna Roche, said: “I wish to commend everyone who played a part in the hospital’s success at this year’s NISO Awards. It is a major achievement for the management and staff at the hospital. This improve the focus on health and safety within the hospital and it has helped to increase our profile and has given us an opportunity to showcase our commitment to health and safety. It is an excellent audit of the hospital’s safety system.”

The National Irish Safety Organisation (known as NISO) is operating since 1963.  NISO helps to promote and improve health and safety at work, builds relationships with other health and safety stakeholders, and contributes its expertise to better occupational health and safety in Ireland.

The submission from the Bon Secours Hospital Tralee included material relating to Health and Safety Management, Hazard Identification and Risk Management, Implementation and Operation of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and Pro-active Health and Safety Management and a number of other topics.

The Occupational Safety awards, which are recognised throughout Ireland, have been running nationally for 24 years.  The awards aim is to assist organisations to move forward, constantly innovating and changing the environment of health and safety in the workplace.
