THE Tralee Born to Run Club are to hold a fundraising run next month to help a little girl from Ballymac.

The Help Rose Bloom 5k Virtual Run is being held in aid of four year old Rose O’Flaherty who lives with Type 1 Spinal Muscular Athrophy (SMA).

Currently there is no cure for SMA, but there are treatments available to manage symptoms and reduce discomfort.

A group of family, friends and local community have set out to raise funds to help with her needs. For more information about the campaign checkout www.helprosebloom.ie.

Born To Run are encouraging everyone to take part on August 21/22. You can do the 5k in your own wa,  be it a walk, run or even if you are not quite up to doing 5k all in one go, aim for 6250 steps in one day (approx the number of steps in a 5k).

To take part costs €10 and if you would like a medal it’s €3 extra. All funds raised will go to Rose and her family.
