Break-ins, Criminal Damage And Thefts From Vehicles In Tralee

There was a break-in at the Ashe Memorial Hall at the weekend.

GARDAI in Tralee are investigating a number of incidents of theft from cars, criminal damage and break-ins at premises, including one at the Ashe Memorial Hall.

Between Friday evening at 5pm and Saturday morning at 8.15am, entry was gained to the Ashe Memorial Hall by a side window.  According to gardaí, there was nothing taken but offices inside were ransacked.

A property in Rathass was broken into when a back window was smashed and the homeowner was at a funeral. A Samsung tablet and antique cutlery was taken. Also, last Monday, May 15, at Ballyrickard Court, a homeowner returned to find her house had been broken into with cash and medication taken.

On Wednesday, May 17, between 7.15 and 8pm, at the Car Park near St John’s Church, a vehicle was broken into and items were taken from the car, including two USB sticks which contain important college work.

On Saturday night/Sunday morning on Rock Street, rocks were used to smash a window of a car.   In the Moyderwell area, between 11pm on Friday night and 2am on Saturday morning, wipers were taken from a car.

In Blennerville, an incident occurred between 9pm on Sunday, May 14 and Monday, May 15 at 7am, a man woke to find his car covered in mud and rubbish thrown into his garden.

There was also an incident in Edward Street where a woman came back to her car to find it damaged, while at Higgins Waste there was wiring damaged in a criminal damage incident.

Gardaí are asking the public if they have any information on any of the incidents to contact them at Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300.

    This is shameful. Are any CCTV cameras working, would they not pick up the culprits.
