A CAMP woman received a nice boost recently when she won nearly €5,000 in a GAA lotto draw.

Bridget Moynihan works in Seamus O’Sullivan’s Master Butcher’s over in Manor and was delighted to receive her St Pat’s GAA Club lotto winnings of €4,900 on Tuesday afternoon at the shop where she bought her ticket.

Bridget explained how she heard the news just over a week ago.

“My father was at the draw in Skelper Quanes Bar and he rang me. I didn’t believe him at first, I thought it was a prank. I saw it then on Facebook and I knew it was true. It was a great surprise,” she said.

Bridget is married to John — “he was delighted, he had it spent before I had it spent!” she laughed —  and they have a little boy, Jack.

It’s the third time in nine months the club’s lotto has been won. James O’Connor from Lohercannon won €7,900 back in August and just eight weeks later, Charlotte Devane from Ballyvelly collected a cheque for €2,700. Chairman of St Pat’s GAA Club, Terry Boyle, wished Bridget well with her winnings.

He also reminded people that to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their lotto, St Pats will enter all lotto players who play the club lotto either weekly, monthly or yearly from the 23rd of January until the 5th of June into a special draw for 2 All Ireland Football tickets plus 2 night’s accommodation on the Saturday and Sunday night of the All Ireland weekend.

Lotto tickets can be purchased online, from any club officer or at the following outlets: Seamus O’Sullivan Master Butchers, O’Sheas Shop and Service Station, Poff Motors, Noyeks, Byrnesworth, Rock Inn, Dwyer’s Bar, Skelper Quanes, Bettys Bar and Keane’s of Curraheen.
