THE Kerry International Film Festival presented much loved actor and singer Bronagh Gallagher with the 2019 Maureen O’ Hara Award, in celebration of women in film on Thursday evening.
The presentation had to be delayed due to COVID but the Derry native made it down to town for a special screening of ‘A Bump Along The Way’ starring Gallagher, in St John’s Church of Ireland and a Q&A session.
The screening was followed by drinks and canapés in Lottie’s Bar and Lounge, The Ashe Hotel, Tralee where Ms. Gallagher was formally presented with the award.

Bronagh Gallagher is a singer, musician and actress, probably best known for her feature film appearances was in Alan Parker’s The Commitments (1991), followed three years later in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction (1994).
The ‘An Evening With Bronagh Gallagher’ was sponsored by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland on May 19 in St. John’s Church of Ireland, Tralee.
