THE builder who won €500,000 in Tuesday’s Euromillions draw checked his ticket and immediately went off for a few pints with the ticket still in his back pocket.
The Kerry man who bought a €6 Quick Pick in Spar Express, Castlemaine Road in Tralee on Tuesday, claimed his prize at National Lottery Headquarters in Dublin today and wishes to remain anonymous.
He said the jackpot means he won’t have to emigrate.
“I checked the results after the draw, then I put the ticket back in my pocket and went into the town for a few pints,” he said.
“Things aren’t good if you are a builder in Kerry. I’d been planning to emigrate to make a better life for myself…. now I don’t need to!”
